Leak shows Verizon prepping 10-inch Android-powered Ellipsis budget slate

A tweet from Evan Blass reveals that Verizon is planning on releasing a 10-inch version of its Ellipsis budget Android tablet. Big Red already has offered both a 7-inch, and 8-inch model of the slate. The tweet from Blass includes press images of the tablet, which is about all we get from this leak. In other words, there are no specs to chew on at the moment.

To give you an idea of what to expect from the Ellipsis 10, the Ellipsis 8 features an 8-inch screen with an 800 x 1280 resolution, and a 189ppi pixel density. A quad-core 1.5GHz CPU is under the hood with 1GB of RAM inside. 16GB of expandable native storage is included. A 5MP camera can be found on back of the slab, while a 1.3MP snapper is on the front. A 5000mAh juicer keeps the power on, and Android 4.4 is pre-installed.

Considering that both the Ellipsis 7 and Ellipsis 8  were unveiled during the first week of November in 2013 and 2014 respectively, we could see something similar with the Ellipsis 10. The two released versions of the Ellipsis tablet were both launched for $249.99. So if past is prologue, expect the Ellipsis 10 to be unveiled in less than three weeks, priced at $249.99. Entry-level specs should once again be inside.

The Ellipsis series isn't mean to challenge the tablets put out by those big Android manufacturers. It is basically a low-priced device designed to be the perfect gift for Chanukah or Christmas.
