Latest report mentions that T-Mobile will also be getting the iPhone 5 in October
Well, the fun doesn’t end there as yet a totally new report throws some fire to the already established rumors about T-Mobile getting the iPhone as well. This time around, the news comes from a source of MacTrast that’s cited as being “a contact within T-Mobile who claims to have been briefed on the matter.”
In fact, they claim that the handset will very well arrive approximately in early to mid-October, which so happens to line up with previous rumors. Moreover, it’s believed that the handset will be available in 3G form with no indication if it’ll be supporting the carrier’s HSPA+ network.
Obviously, the rumor mill is really starting to heat up as we get closer to September – where Apple is expected to hold an event of some sort to disrobe all the information regarding its plans. Clearly, it’s looking like good news for customers all around.

I'm all for competition and choices but when a company tries to banned other phones from being sold... well to me that's monopoly and shows that a Apple just can't compete. Their lucky that there's so many idiots willing to buy a pretty phone for status and bragging rights.

I think you mean *ban
Also "that's [*a] monopoly"
Also take the *a from in front of Apple
It's [*They're lucky] not Their
[*There are] not There's
We are [iPhone Fans] lucky that you do NOT work for Apple. Because we would not be able to brag. You have the nerve to call us idiots. I guess you have an iPhone with how bad your grammer is.

Ahh I see, you went to school couldn't get a job even though you write well. Work on your personality, maybe you can ace a job interview and you can use your writing skills at Apple, instead of picking on people online.
Maybe he has personality and Apple will hire him because he has potential to be a good sales rep. Apple wouldn't hire an arrogant person like you, I'm sure sales will not be that good with you as a sales rep.

Funny how you criticize the guy about his "grammar" but yet you misspelled the word "grammar." You, sir, fail on epic proportions. Have a nice day.

i get how bad grammar is annoying but don't just come out of the blue criticizing the guy about his grammar, he didn't mean anything to you personally. besides there's too many people on this site that uses bad grammar that it's really not worth trying to correct one person. if you don't have anything relevant to say about what he said then don't say anything at all.
29. gallitoking (Posts: 4684; Member since: 17 May 2011)
some one stated about bad grammar...hmmmm why do all fandroids cal Apple users idiots.. i dont get it... they are as blind for a brand or OS as we are. whay are they any better... if we are idiots ..since Android is complete..then they are complete idiots...
36. remixfa (Posts: 13903; Member since: 19 Dec 2008)
all fandroids dont call all isheep idiots.. just taco and miz. why? because they are IDIOTS. lol. that has nothing to do with their choice of OS and everything to do with the fact that they are complete idiots.

What you got now BIATCHES
5. Thump3rDX17 (Posts: 2160; Member since: 10 May 2010)
we're still in the confines of major U.S. carriers. xD
27. darth8ball (Posts: 519; Member since: 02 Aug 2011)
All this says to me is while Apple liked to make it seem like a network had to meet "special" stnadards for their precious phone. Carriers that didn't have what it took to get their phone for it's customers all of a sudden are ok, cool enough to be in the clique.
Apples game is marketing smoke and mirrors, always has been always will be. This move to Sprint and Tmo only shows they are scared of my little green buddy.
31. gallitoking (Posts: 4684; Member since: 17 May 2011)
jajjaa you little green buddy.. dude have that check... just sayin.... if you are concern about people....nasty people thumbing you down.. presious... well dont post dumb stuff... or in simple terms.. dont post what is in your head...

Tmobile isnt exactly metro or virgin, but with all the rumors of a "prepaid iphone" option coming soon, i dont see why they wouldnt release it on budget carriers.
With android obliterating iOS in over all sales they need to do something other than sue compettion to stay afloat

Where will the "status" of owning an iDiotPhone go now.

8ball is quickly to be one of the worst posters on PA. Dare I say as bad as remix. Btw now that tmo is getting an iPhone I'm guessing remix is all of a sudden an Apple supporter. Watch the transformation happen.

there are haters out there whats funny is if the iphone was android phone it would be a "mid range" phone just something to think about the ios is years behind "King Robot" and that's not going to change all in can say is 60% of the market now who the hell wants to argue that fact!!
47. taco50 (banned) (Posts: 5506; Member since: 08 Oct 2009)
Yea android is giving away more free copies then Apple sells. Good job!
62. gallitoking (Posts: 4684; Member since: 17 May 2011)
60% of the market .. and how many of those are satisfied customers owning the LG Optimus S for 2 years,or the palm Pixi.... right... they are part of that 60 % hmmm yeahh brag about that... those btw are free phones... on a 2 year agreement.. see u guys on 2013.... the iphone 3 before you go there.. still have full Apple support and ... will hold value against ..those others free phones.... yeap 60 % of market.. not a stat to brag about since 40% comes from low end phones, and bet you are not satisfied customers...
3. dandirk (Posts: 187; Member since: 04 Aug 2011)
Wow thought the big(ger) 3 were the only ones.
Another thing I can say about Apple and the iphone...
If they are only producing 1 iphone 5 model that supports all the carriers, this will be a very good thing for consumers. We would be able to move carriers after contract (or pay etc, buy non-contract) at will.
This could boost competition between carrers.
4. dfafasfasfa (unregistered)
i am sure the carriers will still find away to lock each iphone to a paticular carrier
8. remixfa (Posts: 13903; Member since: 19 Dec 2008)
thats exactly why that will never happen. carriers dont want that ability.
10. htsee (Posts: 86; Member since: 15 Mar 2009)
I don't think people are looking at it right. Carriers make pennies on the dollar for the price of the phone. The real money isn't in the device. The reason most carriers (CDMA in particular) don't really want customers bringing their phones over is because they'd have to input the serial number into their database. Then you have to upgrade your systems for the type of phone and what it is capable of doing. On top of that, you then have to train your entire staff to support the device as to find out if the device is defective, or there is a network issue if the phone doesn't work properly. Its more than just the carriers trying to make a few bucks (and that's really all it is) on that brand spanking new smartphone.
45. remixfa (Posts: 13903; Member since: 19 Dec 2008)
actually you dont have to do any of that htsee. when a person brings me an non Tmobile GSM phone and asks questions we just go "sorry, its not this carriers phone, we dont support it". If its something basic, its not a big deal but if they want real tech support they have to find it elsewhere.
As far as system features, all the carriers already have generic placeholders for each OS, there isnt anything specific per phone.
Carriers have already come out against an unlocked, every radio, iphone.. or any phone because then they cant lock them into contracts which makes projections and quarterly results skewed. They actually lose money on almost every phone they sell at a discount, they make it back over time on the contract.
39. dandirk (Posts: 187; Member since: 04 Aug 2011)
I am sure you are right... I can hope can't I?????
25. box (unregistered)
It may be easier to have customers switch carriers if that's what they wind up doing, however, that's more manufacturing costs, and also leads to lower revenue for apple when a customer doesn't buy a new phone with their new carrier. I think the carriers would also be a bit upset about a universal phone because if the customer owns the phone, they can't put a contract on it.
28. htsee (Posts: 86; Member since: 15 Mar 2009)
The biggest reason for contracts here in the US is because of phone subsidies. While I completely agree that its in the carriers' best interests for contracts in the long term, I would think most companies would forego contracts if consumers would actually fork over what manufacturers charge for their devices. It works in Europe, but as T-Mobile has shown, it's not going to catch on here.
6. Thump3rDX17 (Posts: 2160; Member since: 10 May 2010)
i think it's pretty safe to say the iPhone 5 will grace every major U.S. carrier at launch.
11. scorpio85 (Posts: 160; Member since: 16 Jan 2010)
Who cares, TMobile sucks. The majority of people that get T are children and people with bad credit or no social. iPhone will do good at Sprint, not T.
13. htsee (Posts: 86; Member since: 15 Mar 2009)
That's a pretty general comment to make. There are different customers among all carriers. I'm a firm believer in picking whichever network works best for you. Each network has its own benefits, and people need to get past the dogmatic view of "this company has nothing but..."
16. scorpio85 (Posts: 160; Member since: 16 Jan 2010)
Never said "they have nothing but". I have a couple friends that work for T and they tell me thats just what they mostly get. I'm sure you could agree with me that if you go into a Verizon store and TMobile store you will see the difference. Not trying to argue my point, just voicing an opinion. Oh and no I don't have Verizon.
17. htsee (Posts: 86; Member since: 15 Mar 2009)
That's probably a fair comment to make regarding a demographic in a specific area.
18. scorpio85 (Posts: 160; Member since: 16 Jan 2010)
Lol well put, I live in AZ where there are lots of illegals.
20. htsee (Posts: 86; Member since: 15 Mar 2009)
lol. Statistics can be skewed to represent anything. Sometimes, they don't have to be skewed. =-)
24. darth8ball (Posts: 519; Member since: 02 Aug 2011)
Yeah well come to the Verizon stores in Northern NJ Metro NYC area and tell me what you think about the customer base.
Metro PCS maybe I might agree with, but TMO has come a long way. Great high end phone variety and just why do you think AT&T wants their data network?
And BTW I have Verizon
30. iGNetworks (unregistered)
Nope. Theres another reason to it. T-Mobile provides 2nd best reception vs. the others and is cheaper.
33. htsee (Posts: 86; Member since: 15 Mar 2009)
Define 2nd best reception? When, on a national scale, they have the 2nd most dropped calls (ahead of AT&T). Again, numbers can be skewed.
19. s (unregistered)
I dont see why this is surprising ....t mobile is going to be att anyway so why not give them a iPhone now just a matter of time anyway ... Huh I think I m gonna go with sprint or Verizon for new contract

DO NOT WANT!
34. Samk12238 (unregistered)
There is way too much phone bashing going on. Why cant everyone be happy we have choices on which OS to pick... competition drives the industry. While i don't like how apple handles competition with law suits its within their rights to do so. Lets just hope the courts make a fair ruling based on facts given by each company.
Im rooting for android as i have an android phone because it serves my purpose. If other people prefer apple iphone good for them. it all comes down to personal choice.

this is HUGE.
all those android sales records are in extreme jeopardy.
2 versions of the iphone coming to all 4 carriers and prepaid. I can't wait for this announcement!
48. InspectorGadget80 (Posts: 6389; Member since: 26 Mar 2011)
APPLE is getting very afraid of competition. see Android phones is on every single carrier and the Iphone is only on 2. If they want to make sells release all iphones on every carrier don't just wait every few months or years just to release your product. and their very afraid of Samsung Galaxy S II
49. VZW_employee (unregistered)
I have always use Android , ever since the HTC G1, I now use X2, but let's be honest over here, Iphones are better than any other smartphone , the reason is that Apple spends millions on only one model the Iphone allowing their team to focus on making that only model the best possible, on the other hand Motorola ,HTC, Samsung, make 10 to 15 different models, and the results are delays on release dates, defective devices, and devices breaking within 1 year of use.
I don't agreed with Apple way to do business, the fact that you have to download applications from the app store, or download music from Itunes, or that they don't support flash.
but the reality is that you get less headaches and better phone life with Apple.
