Same phones and people behind them, just different name (though I think they should have setup a royalty system for the brand name), like when a girl gets married and takes her husband's last name. Same person as before, just different name.

I'm sad for both of you. IF you were real fans then it should be about the hardware and it's the same team. Stop whining and look for the bright future of the folks that made great phones no matter the name... seems silly

The biggest issue lies with the "how" in Nokia's failure and their sale. You need look no further than Microsoft, who held the platform back from making jumps into competitive hardware. Once MSFT has complete control of Nokia, watch the updates fly faster and the platform stay on more competitive hardware. If it does, everyone who cried foul over the way Redmond and Elop handled things will have their corroboration.

If m$ is to succeed they have to make faster updates a priority so I'm not sure that's an indication of some grand scheme.
But to say that someone won't buy a Nokia because it won't be the same once the transition is complete is just silly. I have little doubt that m$ and the Nokia team will come up with a great product.

i won't, because people develop attachment to particular brands. i grew up with nokia phones and its really sad to see it get replaced by microsoft branding

I'm not saying i'm never gonna buy a nokia phone any more. I'm just saying i'll go for the best and the best only (except for samsung, lg and apple devices). Right now i'm using the Xperia z. But maybe sometime in the future there might be a device that brings me back to nokia.

AT&T does not have exclusives on the 925, that has been available with T Mobile a couple months before AT&T

According to AdDuplex blog, the most popular windows phone carrier is Verizon Wireless. These are the september statistics in the link. A little google search would've brought up the results.
