Latest Verizon update for the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge adds FM radio support
FM radio support has been available on handsets since the days of feature phones but has lately been dropped from some high-class smartphone models for no apparent reason. Sure, one could easily argue that, nowadays, most owners of a flagship device most probably have a Spotify, Google Play Music, or Apple Music subscription to cover all of their music-listening needs, but still — FM radio is free and doesn't require you to have a stable, fast Internet connection.

All that said, owners of the Verizon-issued Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge handsets will be happy to know that support for FM radio has been added to the devices via the latest OTA update. After downloading and applying the patch, there will be two prerequisites you'd have to meet before being able to enjoy radio — you need to download the free NextRadio app (linked below), and you need to have a pair of headphones connected to the device, as it will use their cord as an antenna.

A new Barcode Beaming Service will also be added to your phone, making it easier to store your coupons, membership cards, and even event tickets on your phone. It is integrated with Samsung Pay and Beep'n Go, allowing you to quickly fill up your digital barcode library and scan them with ease at the places that support them.

The software update number for Galaxy S7 is MMB29M.G930VVRU2APG5, and for the Galaxy S7 edge, it's MMB29M.G935VVRU2APG5.
