Not me. I'm a good boy, I only buy when Verizon lets me upgrade. So I'm eagerly awaiting what will be my sole device for the next 2 years.

'While we are told not to expect the Motorola Moto X at the manufacturer's July 11th event, no one said anything about the new DROID models."

Has anyone considered.... 11.11.11 was the DROID Razr. Anyone who bought the Razr at release will be due for their 20 month upgrade this week. Maybe this is just wishful thinking, but with leaks coming fast and furious, the Ultra could arrive this month.

No, I preordered my RAZR got it 11/10/11 and used my upgrade on it, Verizon won't let me upgrade until November no more early upgrades, I cannot upgrade anyway, unlimited data

Are you sure? I upgraded on 11/20/11 and am eligible for the 20 month early upgrade on 7/20. They didn't end the early upgrade deal until this year.

if you have a line with a basic feature phone you can use your upgrades and retain your unlimited data.

Droid is Verizon's brand, yes. Hopefully there will be an international version too, but the rest of the US is out of luck.

One of the reasons I liked the RAZR was the angular design. I'll need to hold this new phone...

i dont really see the "small Motorola bat wings logo on the front corner of the phone" anywhere in the picture!!
also prefer having the lock and volume rocker buttons on different sides of any device..

So why give Verizon full hd screen when the X phone only 720p hd?

Depends on the screen size of the X. If it's less than 4.7", 720 is sufficient for most people, especially at the rumored low price.

Because the Moto X isn't Motorola's flagship, the Ultra is.

You could say the same of the Galaxy S3 and S4, the iPhone 4 and 5, the Lumia 800, 900, 920... It's called design language.

It feels like Motorola should discontinue the Droid branding because its goodwill has been put to shame by Verizon.

Or, Verizon (which actually owns the Droid name) should cut the brand down to the 1-2 really solid Motorola devices it needs. Which is pretty much exactly what they're doing with the Ultra and Ultra M.

Model number XT-1080M gives hope that this device is coming with FHD 1080p display....

Lets wait and see...

Well, I don't really need all 1080 lines. I'll take the 1060p XT-1060.
