i would love to hear apple say it one more time: "it's not a defect or glitch, it's a special feature"....... haha

You gotta all be kidding. I just sold my very dependable SG3 and replaced it with Iphone 5 because I swallowed whole the "it just works" creedo of its disciples, and now I find out all of these crap are happening with my very expensive Iphone 5?!

I really just want a small phone, meaning 4.3 inch or less (not one with a near tablet-like proportions), with a high res screen and powerful enough processor to open apps without lags.

Someone mentioned the much-cheaper Goophone 4? Is there now a Goophone 5 available? And did the manufacturer of that phone also already issue a firmware update (can't they just copy and paste Iphone 5 firmware update 6.0.1 into the innards of Goolphone 5, so it'll run flawlessly just like before, as I was told by other witless, idiot, moron, dumbass, imbecil, retard, brainless, dumb and unsuspecting Iphone 5 buyers like me?} Do the reviews of Googaphone or Googiphone, or whatever, sound like they're written by people waiting to be saved by the new messiah phone (I was told that's a good sign, no pun intended.)? I need to be redeemed right now, and I profess that my Iphone 5 replacement is the one that I accept as my true and one and only savior. I have sinned and have turned my spineless back from my former religion called Android, but now I want to return just like the prodigal son did. Am I doomed and now am hell-bound?

Are you actually having these issues or complaining about issues others are having?

43. rsaunders917 posted on 10 Nov 2012, 00:51 3 1

I'm having a lot of issues. Unreliable data button (quite unresponsive sometimes) when I want to connect to internet. Not being able to call the first time when I don't use the phone for a while (I always have to redial to be able to connect.). Iphone 5 automatically switching to 2G (5 full bars, but no 4G or HSDPA+, etc.) although phone is always set to 3G (only 2-3 bars signal strenght, but good internet connection), after phone has been dormant for some time. In general, I have found the screen itself to be inconsistent when it comes to it's supposedly more responsive and faster app loading (it seems to me like it's running out of memory). I don't play games, so I absolutely don't know how fast the Iphone 5 really is because I can't disable the very, very laid-back zen-like-I'm-just-calmly-walking-in-the-park-listening-to-the-sound-of-the-sea-waves-relaxed animation. Sigh, sigh, . . . .

Sounds like you need help. They are just phones, don't get so worked up about them.

47. rsaunders917 posted on 10 Nov 2012, 01:14 1

No, it's just not any phone; it's a $1,000 phone. "Don't get so worked up, it's just a phone" really is a good advice for one who paid $100 for a phone on a plan.

46. rsaunders917 posted on 10 Nov 2012, 01:11 2

Look at that, another brain-washed certain-phone-brand fanatic. I'm just stating the facts and I have absolutely no brand loyalty. Unless Apple or Samsung gives me a millionaire's retirement fund, I can't for the life of me imagine why one would be worshiping or adoring a company or a corporation or be loyal to it like it's their god. All I want is just a product, even if generic, that does the basics reliably. Unthinking, brain-washed people are some of the most dangerous people in the world. There's only one god, and it is the only one worth worshiping.

Just buy a nexus 4.
It's not too big, trust me. It's basically a 4.5 inch screen

52. rsaunders917 posted on 10 Nov 2012, 02:03 2

Thank you for your suggestion.

I'll go to the store and try it out. I've discovered that it is the width of the phone that really matters to me (SG3 is a great phone but too wide for me).

I only text and call, so the only reason I like a high resolution screen such as the one in Iphone 5 (the best screen I've seen other than my previous HTC One X) is because my eyes are now deteriorating, so sharp texts make things easier.

wow here comes the most innovative

50. darac posted on 10 Nov 2012, 01:49 2

Fail !!

Apple lost Is .. and I take back my claim about this phone being the best for an average consumer.
I tried it and it Is just underwhelming

53. Mfa901 posted on 10 Nov 2012, 02:05 3

this is a new innovation of iphone developers for saving the fingers of iphone customers
plz don't copy it this is already patiented :p

56. coolsharma2002in posted on 10 Nov 2012, 04:19 1 3

bull s**t....i didnt face any of the above mentioned problems....its bn a weeks time i purchased my i5 frm the istore n m satisfied....may be some of the handsets do have the problems but not all

59. jroc74 posted on 10 Nov 2012, 07:30 2

And if it is a manufacturing defect, then its also no big deal. Bad batches do happen.

I know some ppl are getting rubbed the wrong way....but things like this arent supposed to happen to Apple. Them and some of their fans always put Apple on a pedestal.....so they should be prepared when that pedestal gets some mud on it.

61. darkkjedii posted on 10 Nov 2012, 08:08 1

That's true. I would've never even known about this, if that vid had'nt surfaced. My ip5 has performed big time, not perfect as no phone is but extremely dependable.

60. darkkjedii posted on 10 Nov 2012, 08:02 2

I've tried this about a hundred times, and was able to duplicated twice. If its a software issue, then it's no biggie. If its hardware related, I'm gonna use it to score a late build model iPhone 5...which should be of even better build quality. By the way, of the issues that have been reported this is the first issue I've encountered.

62. rickywinataa posted on 10 Nov 2012, 08:20 1

i think it is a hardware problem with iPhone 5, iOS 6.0.1 should be coded the same for iPhone 4S and 5, only their resolution settings are different

63. darkkjedii posted on 10 Nov 2012, 08:36 2

Could b the new incell touch screen technology. This is the first go around for it, but it'll b improved for newer devices. When I play fruit ninja though which requires the same kinda rapid scrolling it doesn't happen.

64. dexter_jdr posted on 10 Nov 2012, 08:48 3

another feature!! yay!!!

65. remixfa posted on 10 Nov 2012, 09:08 1

GUYS;

Better pray its an iOS issue, and not a touch screen tech.

That's the exact same screen and tech in the Nexus4. :(

67. darkkjedii posted on 10 Nov 2012, 09:43

R u serious?

75. remixfa posted on 10 Nov 2012, 19:13 3

super cereal.

Yea, they had an article a few weeks ago at the unveiling about the screen tech. Its the exact same IPS screen as the i5 with the same new thin screen tech.. LG makes screens for both phones.

Here's to praying its poor iOS implementation.
We'll find out soon enough though.
Besides, if its just a super fast swype thing, its not gonna be that big of a deal.

80. darkkjedii posted on 11 Nov 2012, 17:00

Super cereal. From the man bear pig southpark episode lmao

70. Berzerk000 posted on 10 Nov 2012, 13:37

Not the Nexus! Anything but the Nexus! :(

69. sudbury78 posted on 10 Nov 2012, 12:23 1 5

Dumbest article ever. Keep trying to find ways to knock this phone. Still wont prevent it from out selling every handset there is.

71. chaoticrazor posted on 10 Nov 2012, 14:34 1

Don't cry, there's more to life then phones you should step outside in the real world. Besides the article ain't knocking its stating a proved problem

74. jroc74 posted on 10 Nov 2012, 16:44 1

Yea...excuse PA for letting people know about a potential problem with a phone. If it was me, I would be glad to know about some potential problem with a phone I wanted, liked, had. And if I didnt have the problem, then I'm good.

But its ok for them let folks know about problems with Android, WP and Blackberry tho, right?

Let me ask you a question....did you get an iPhone because it outsells every other handset out there....or did you get it because you just wanted one? Because how many it sells doesnt help you if you are experiencing this issue.

81. osorto40 posted on 11 Nov 2012, 17:10

it just works... well sort of .... sometimes

83. mariosraptor posted on 12 Nov 2012, 13:03

Noooooo. It is an Iphone and it has a problem? it can't be!!!!!

90. Valdomero posted on 15 Nov 2012, 13:10

Don't worry people, Apple will reveal the new iPhone 6 and fix this problem once and for all!!

¬_¬

92. Twisted247 posted on 22 Nov 2012, 01:50

INNOVATIVE!!! Apple has managed to not only release the longest going phone series to dupe its users. But also to sell the faultiest phone/os system in largest numbers ever!!

Apple will also be holding a special for the holidays with guinness book of world records, they are shooting for the highest glitch/bug to lowest phone model line ratio ever. (They are shattering the current record which is also held by Apple)

Happy Holidays Android users, this just cements your intelligence and sound decision making skills!

93. CX3NT3_713 posted on 24 Nov 2012, 08:30

Wow,, that does happen ,..and the static on keyboard ...both,,,,but why would I, wanna scroll up and down so fast???..as a android and apple products fan, I must admit , people will try , and find something wrong with phones and tablets ...IMO

95. neurobiologist posted on 27 Nov 2012, 07:52

The point is, iphone is nothing other than just rediculously overpriced product, inside there is a buggy components, made in china. And people still buying it, as extra quality product :/ although there is a problems.

94. garz_pa posted on 27 Nov 2012, 00:10

That couldn't be a glitch. It may be sensing that you're uselessly scrolling the phone and there's a limit the phone will tolerate such action, so it stops. Now if that happens to games or other apps, then that is a problem. Reality speaking, who would even scroll that fast back and forth?

96. ChristianFriborg posted on 27 Nov 2012, 22:51

Why can't people realize that iPhone is just a ridiculous overpriced phone?
