Today is the day for HTC. After a long and painful transitional period, HTC is now ready to begin anew in its life as a smartphone company. Today is the day when HTC will (most probably) announce the new HTC One - its new flagship Android smartphone...

I agree One X looks better
39. 14545 posted on 19 Feb 2013, 09:10 1 1
That would be a MAJOR turnoff for me. If I wanted a WP, I would buy a WP. Especially considering that HTC won't give any support to xda to help get rid of that crap.

Don't know, it couple be just a single widget operating like that
68. 14545 posted on 19 Feb 2013, 09:48 0 2
Looks like the launcher is WP8 style. Terrible, just terrible.
72. protozeloz posted on 19 Feb 2013, 09:52 0 0
It was a widget .-.

Low light photos comparable to Lumia 920, day time to GSII and iPhone 5. Plus everything @diego! said especially the battery life and OS points.
32. RiseAgainst94 posted on 19 Feb 2013, 08:55 1 0
By GSII I meant GSIII. I wish the design was closer to the One X, it looks a bit uninspired now. Lots of storage and big battery with the thought that there will no replaceable battery or expanded storage.
64. 14545 posted on 19 Feb 2013, 09:39 0 0
It looks like an iphone now. I don't understand why they would go this direction.

Great screen (not like Z), may be Snapdragon 800 (*wink), great battery optimization, and above all, GREAT CAMERA!!!
23. neutralguy posted on 19 Feb 2013, 08:45 2 1
4.7" FHD Super LCD 3+?
Snapdragon 600 orrrrr please be Tegra 4
Sense 5.0 UI
Android 4.2 JB
2500-3000mAh
4.3MP Camera Sensor? As mentioned from other articles(Ultrapixel)
2MP front camera
24. Captain_Doug posted on 19 Feb 2013, 08:46 1 0
The 4.3mp camera is in a set of 3. So more like 12.9mp.

ohh so that's how it works. Thanks for the info :)

Why? Aluminum makes the phone more premium feel
66. p5yb0rg (unregistered) posted on 19 Feb 2013, 09:43 3 2
After the long wait, this is all HTC has to offer? Sense 5 = WP-like tiles? seriously... If I wanted live tiles, I'll buy a Nokia.. HTC, thanks but no thanks..
71. 14545 posted on 19 Feb 2013, 09:52 2 2
Yeah, this has got to be the dumbest attempt by HTC ever. It looks like a fat iPhone running a WinPhone OS. Well, thanks HTC for making my decision to not continue supporting you even easier.
Oh, and how sad is it that it releases with 4.1.2 instead of 4.2.1. I can understand not having 4.2.2, considering it just dropped, but it shouldn't have a .1 increment less at launch than the current OS. Great job HTC. Bravo.

rumored 2300 battery life on a full hd smartphone, i dont think so. but the snapdraggon 600 is more power efficient than the S4 PRO, so we will see what happens
35. MikeG77 posted on 19 Feb 2013, 09:03 0 0
That 2300 mah battery is going to be too small even with the more efficient processor. At this point if the device has the same dimensions as the Maxx HD and an SD card that will mean that HTC has failed to listen to the consumers once again. Ill have to wait and see what the S4 and X phone have to offer.
42. androiddownsouth posted on 19 Feb 2013, 09:14 2 0
Nothing wrong with the battery life on my DNA and it has a larger screen and smaller battery, so I disagree with you there.
47. redmd posted on 19 Feb 2013, 09:19 0 0
But woud you have preferred a 3000mAh battery on your DNA? I would. Because that makes a lot of difference in battery life once you turn on LTE.
83. ojdidit84 posted on 19 Feb 2013, 11:09 0 0
Honestly, I wouldn't care much for a 3Ah battery. I personally get about a day and a half out of my DNA on a daily basis. Sometimes I go to put my phone on the charger at night before bed after being off of the charger since 7am and I'm still at 50%.
I could only imagine how much better it would be with a huge battery but with battery life being as good as it is on this "small" battery, it's not really needed.
As far as this phone, I'm sure 2300 will be more than enough capacity especially with the Qualcomm 600 or 800 on board.
87. MikeG77 posted on 19 Feb 2013, 12:32 0 0
that is too small. The Note 2 is a half inch larger and has a batter that was 50% larger then the DNA. The RAZR MAXX and MAXX HD are smaller than the DNA/same size as the One and still had larger internal batteriers and SD card slots.
If HTC had offered the phone with a 3000 mah batter that was a little thicker i dont think you would complain. The DNA is a good phone with a battery that is too small. Yes you may get good battery life but just wait and see that the battery will be the big issue. HTC will then release the "new" HTC One with a 40% increase in battery and 64gb's just like the One X.
I hope for HTC sake you are right BUT HTC has a history of putting in batteries that are too small and with it not being user replaceable that just compounds the problem.
90. ojdidit84 posted on 19 Feb 2013, 15:30 0 0
That Razr Maxx HD is small but its also thicker and wider. I used to have a Razr Maxx. That bezel on the phone was huge and it was wide. Battery life was also pretty much all it had going for it.
And I love HTC but I really don't see them making a phone with a higher capacity battery a la Razr/Razr Maxx.
As for the Note II, it's half an inch taller, but also wider and thicker. Of course it can accommodate a larger battery. Doesn't say much though since my DNA often times get the same or better battery life out out of it than my roommate does on his Note II and I use my phone far much more than he does.
Sure, a bigger battery would be nice but when your SoC, screen and software are optimized a bit better to lengthen that battery life, then why put a bigger battery in the phone and lose your thin form factor?

If it had on screen keys, unlocked bootloader, removable battery or great battery life, microsd card and either the Snapdragon 600 or 800.
11. PhoneArenaUser posted on 19 Feb 2013, 08:25 0 0
Strange thing that in leaked photos new HTC flagship looks so thin while some rumors still says that it is 9.3 mm thickness (thicker than Sony Xperia Z or Samsung Galaxy S III).
84. ojdidit84 posted on 19 Feb 2013, 11:13 0 1
People keep commenting on battery life and the phone hadn't even had a review about the phone to mention battery life. People said the same thing about the DNA and so far battery life has been amazing.
How about that? Great battery life without needing to stuff a huge battery in the phone.

I was commenting on the 2nd post in the live feed. It asks what your must have features are. Those are mine.

I'm looking forward to the snapdragon 600 (and later, the 800). Qualcomm is doing some amazing things!

My contract is ending at just the right time. I've never had a HTC but I hear good things about them so I'm very interested in this phone. For the sake of a few weeks, I'm going to wait until I've seen the S4 before I choose my next phone, but it'll be either the HTC One, an S4 or an Xperia Z.
