LG is suspending its tablet development and will instead focus on smartphones, in an environment where Android tablets find it hard to compete with market dominating iPad...

maybe if they had some support with their "with google" products, they would have had more success. Seriously.. the G-Slate is a pure "with google" product and they cant figure out how to upgrade it. I realize Nvidia is being a bastard with releasing ICS drivers, but there had to be some way to get them to release them.

I agree. I'm a pleased owner of a G-Slate. I love the capabilities and versatility of the device. I play movies along with my NES games on my tv with mini HDMI out and a bluetoothed Wiimote controller. No question the device has the power to do everything.
That said, LG has been criminal in their support for the G-Slate with slow or nonexistent updates and locking bootloaders.

Or....they could be making manufacturing capacity available to produce new Surface tablets. Someone is going to make them (and make money), and MSoft will want the maximum possible quality and vendor relationship experience - unlike certain other vendors where access, language/translation, honesty, leave things to be desired.

although it's a very good move by LG to focus on their phones more..., but the thing that has surprised me the most is that a big electronics giant like LG can't focus on phones and tabs simultaneously !!!

That's too bad. Its ok LG. Android tabs aren't big hits anyway, besides the kindle fire, but that's even slowly going downhill.

Smart move by LG.
I'd really like to see LG succeed, they have the hardware and know-how like Samsung, may just need a that one major model like Galaxy S was for Samsung.

Totally onboard with the postings on here. LG needs to get back to their basics, and get their mobile phones back to a position of strength. I wasn't even offended as a WP supporter when they put Windows on the back burner to focus on Android. They have been slumping, and Android is vital to any company wanting to be a top player. Mobile will be better with a rededicated LG returning back to strength. I am sure 2012/2013 will see them putting out better products.
The Thrill, the Optimus series, the Revolution, none of those phones where horrible, they just weren't in position to challenge the top devices. Love good competition. Come on LG, earn our money......

My g-slate was str8 crap before , installing CM9 on it... now its usable ...thanks devs @rootzwiki.com
