LG making a Windows Phone 8 handset?

0. phoneArena 06 Jul 2013, 02:21 posted on

Korean manufacturer LG is about to be the next major smartphone producer to offer a Windows Phone model; a published report out of India says that while the phone is under development, there is no guarantee that the Korean manufacturer is going to go ahead and launch the model. Kwon Soon, LG India’s managing director, said, "At home (South Korea), we are actually working on our Windows Phone 8 OS powered smartphone"...

You and your root-happy friends are a minority. In just about every country that is not USA, the price is not subsidized...

'keeping LG afloat'? They're hardly making a profit if at all with selling hardware like that at a low price. Just because you like the phone doesn't mean it's the only thing that matters. Way to be narrow-minded.

Problem with LG is that they make a phone and then completely forget everything about it.

LG is the 3rd largest smartphone manufacturer? GTFO. They're 5th in the U.S. & even lower worldwide. Don't go spouting nonsense without being able to back up your claims.

It's just like Jellybean 4.2.2. But way restricted! Makes no different. Credo! Android is same as Wp8, but its way "Advanced" then any platform out there. It has reached to its full maturity. While ios, Wp8 have a very long way to catch up.

So why the hell would any one wants to go back 4 years back in time, when Android is giving you every options to do what ever you please to. I mean you can write command scripts, how and which platform will give you this opportunity!

ok I agree to some extent, but there are things that do bother me that are available on IOS and WP8 the fact that if you record a 30 sec or more video at 1080p you can share it on the fly with your friends, while on android you get the "Exceeds maximum file size limit" message and you have to find a third party app to compress it to share it or uploade it to youtube, and I think that is something they should have fixed a long time ago.

Unfortunately, Android has a master key that has recently been discovered, which could potentially allow any Android device to be hacked. The OS is not secure, and that alone suggests that iOS, WP8, and BB-10 have something to offer that Android cannot: peace of mind (aka genuine online security!)

Lmao.

Android is selling well for: Sony Lg Htc Samsung Huawei Zte!

Wp8 is not selling that well, and we all no why...?

Not because of Nokia! They can't rely on Nokia which has its own challenges of rebuilding its brand, to do it for them.

I normally would try it out in the store playing with it for 30 good minutes befor choosing! GsmArena is good for reviews and are not biased.

What phone do you use? And have owned befor?

wow. That´s one of those scarce comments you know what you´re talking about. Indeed. Gsmarena reviews are not biased. You can feel a bit of irony or antipathy toward some oems or companys but never have they posted a review in such emotional style as pa does all the time.

What? That's just silly man.. I like a phone because it fits me as an individual not because it has a perceived popularity. Plus I like the underdog or not super common phone. LG being one of those brands

Alone ? HTC, Samsung, Huawei and now LG...

They are not winning because they are alone, they won because it's Nokia.... And every one knows you just can't beat Nokia on the same Platform

And another thing LG had Windows mobile powered device in past, what happened to them?

Nokia made WP8 what it is now, and now every OEM wants to enjoy free ride on Nokia's success..

None can beat Nokia on the same race Track... Good Luck LG try hard, to loose... or bring something better than Nokia WP8 devices ....

Bring it on LG....

Microsoft has spent billions that they didn't spend that amount of money on any of there Windows project. So both M's and Nokia spending billions on addds still made hardly any difference.

Sony done well with its Z
Samsung s2s3s4 all doing great
Lg the same
Htc doing well again
Nokia even couldn't sell hardly any highend Lumia 9 series. All of the cheap low end 520 is selling

better be a runner-up and be elated eating scraps after samsung, right?
Everyone can step up in windows realm and face Nokia. They choose it wisely. They wanted to be the most important factor in developing this ecosystem. I´d prefer to see more of meego or Nokia controling windows platform entirelly, but it´s not an option right now.

LG should focus on Android because they are known to that and they should focus on updating there Phone. If windows i go for Nokia for a well build sturdy phone.
