How about we focus on creating wireless electricity for all devices. We wouldn’t have to worry about charging batteries anymore. A battery would only be needed as a backup energy source.

They already have wireless extention cords. (thinkgeek sells it) The downside right now is it requires direct line of sight.

Then you need the antenna made of few thousands Kilo meter for transmitting signal. Electric signal is of frequency 50 or 60 Hz, where as the other radio wave frequencies are of 800000 to 50000000Hz. Those frequency can be wireless with less height of antenna,
calculation is f (frequency) = c divided by h. C is the velocity it is around 3x10 power 8 i.e., 3000000000 and h is height. U can check how much antennae height needed for 50hz.
