0. phoneArena posted on 26 Feb 2012, 14:49

Google’s Nexus lineup stands out in the Android world - it’s the first to get Google’s new versions of Android, the first to get updated and often the last to go out of support…

PR Move. Give all the Major US manufacturers a go at it before they go Motosclusive with their purchase.

2. Commentator posted on 26 Feb 2012, 15:15 12

LG is Korean. In fact, Motorola is the only major US manufacturer of Android phones that I can think of.

21. Stuticus posted on 26 Feb 2012, 16:39 1

Meaning companies that release phones in the US. There are only a few major manufacturers

3. Chronos posted on 26 Feb 2012, 15:25 5

Google should just have Motorola develop the next installment in the Google Nexus series instead of LG.

4. nak1017 posted on 26 Feb 2012, 15:40 4

After owning a G2x, I'm not sure LG is up to the task of making a truly reliable device. I wanna see how the 4x HD pans out...

5. pbui.818 posted on 26 Feb 2012, 15:48 3

Never equated LG with quality or durability.
The Korean company may simply really want it more than any other producer.

HTC was a favorite of many fans.
I'd personally like to see Sony or Asus work on it.
Fujitsu or Panasonic have limited presence otherwise they'd be a good choice.

Once most of the major players have taken a round, Motorola will finally get a turn.
If they were in better shape and had completed a Nexus phone before they got into a situation for Google to acquire them, we'd have a better story.

No HTC please...you saw how HTC crapped on brilliant specs of OneX with non-removable 1800mAh battery...WTF is wrong with them

26. Mario1017 posted on 27 Feb 2012, 00:21

How is that crapping out? Motorola's Razr also had a not removable battery....that was even smaller, 1760MAh. What is the big deal anyways with having removable batteries?

28. KingKurogiii posted on 27 Feb 2012, 00:45 2

when i had phones with removable batteries i could always carry a spare in my back pocket when i go out. my phone dies, no problem, takes under five minutes to swap a battery and keep going. it's literally like having double the battery life.

30. nickjjay posted on 27 Feb 2012, 02:18 2

@KingKurogii

i do the same thing with my phones. i have 3 extra batteries for my Droid2 just because it has such a small battery (1390mAh)

29. nickjjay posted on 27 Feb 2012, 02:14

@jove39

i agree with you 100%. I was thinking the same thing. HTC has always struggled with battery life and this would have been a good opportunity to change that image. This phone will stuggle in the battery department just like their others.

6. KingKurogiii posted on 26 Feb 2012, 15:58 5

i think a lot of us have been craving a Motorola Nexus for too long now. forget LG.

8. biophone posted on 26 Feb 2012, 16:06 10

I can see a moto nexus with the maxx batery inside. But what would be amazing would be too see all android manufactures work together to make one phone. Sammy supply the screen and proccesor moto the battery and calling quality and htc to build a unibody with a great camera. It would be a super phone.

7. cheetah2k posted on 26 Feb 2012, 16:05 4

If Motorola could release ROM updates in under 12 months, and without stuffing around blaming others and giving every excuse under the sun to their delays, I'd say go Moto..

We all know this isn't going to happen, so keep the Nexus line with Samsung please.

10. KingKurogiii posted on 26 Feb 2012, 16:18 4

Moto is not that bad and besides that's why we want a Moto Nexus, so Google will be in control of the updates. :P

13. Chronos posted on 26 Feb 2012, 16:21 3

That could easily be changed with Google's involvement.

9. mrGeeZedd posted on 26 Feb 2012, 16:11 5

LG is great about the hardware but a bit clumsy and lame about the software...
But being a Nexus device means no LG-powered software ...just pure Google...
Go for it LG !

11. Commentator posted on 26 Feb 2012, 16:18

What happened to the prediction that all future Android handsets would have onscreen buttons in lieu of physical ones? Was that a Galaxy Nexus only thing?

14. Chronos posted on 26 Feb 2012, 16:21 1

Give it a bit more time.

17. jove39 posted on 26 Feb 2012, 16:26

Seems like

27. Mario1017 posted on 27 Feb 2012, 00:23 1

I dont think that will be happening. some companies might adopt but they might also be influenced by HTC, Huawei and LG with their phones still keeping the off-screen buttons

33. pbui.818 posted on 04 Mar 2012, 10:18

i hope you're right.

12. jove39 posted on 26 Feb 2012, 16:20 2

For now...its better to stick with Samsung...or go with Motorola...Nexus Razr...with big battery and s4 cpu :)

15. jove39 posted on 26 Feb 2012, 16:22 1

I wont mind seeing intel atom in next nexus device either (heard rumors of moto working on x86 based android phone)

22. KingKurogiii posted on 26 Feb 2012, 17:07 2

um..no. it better have an OMAP5 or in the best case scenario an Exynos5xxx.

18. ChafedBanana posted on 26 Feb 2012, 16:29 1

I have the Samsung Galaxy Nexus and I want Motorola to make the next one and make it LTE.

19. joey18 posted on 26 Feb 2012, 16:33

My favorite is samsung over lg well the 4 nexus s is tick with samsung

20. capurso34 posted on 26 Feb 2012, 16:38

lg's os sucks!!!!!

31. nickjjay posted on 27 Feb 2012, 02:23

its a nexus so lg wouldnt make the OS. Thats the point of the nexus.

23. protozeloz posted on 26 Feb 2012, 19:14

ewww LG hell no

what are their merits?

Better Samsung HTC Moto or Sony Before LG.....

24. BuckeyeCadet86 posted on 26 Feb 2012, 20:29 2

Everyone waiting for a "motorola nexus" must have forgotten that motorola worked with Google to make the Xoom, which was the Android 3.0 developer device, so if that is what Moto and Google can do I would welcome any other company, even LG to make the next Nexus.

25. Chronos posted on 26 Feb 2012, 20:33 3

Everyone waiting for a "Motorola Nexus" must have remembered that Motorola developed the DROID RAZR and DROID RAZR MAXX. Those are only two of Motorola's recent smartphones. I would welcome Motorola to make the next Nexus.

34. pbui.818 posted on 04 Mar 2012, 10:22

I hope Google doesn't kill off the Motorola Droid line that includes keyboards.
I hope MAXX battery capacities becomes standard on all Motorola if not standard on all Android hardware.
MAXX2!
