LG has made a better Nexus than Samsung or HTC - at least that is what seems to be the predominant mood among PhoneArena readers...

negative ghost rider the pattern is full. Samsung and HTC would have made a better one if they made one this time around. Seems neither wanted to make the next one due to the requirements of a nexus phone

Nexus to comparison is neither fair nor logical.
In the tech space today each year is like an era... That's the speed with which we are moving.

One way to draw comparisons is probably the nexus against its biggest rivals when it was launch.
How far ahead was it from the rest of the pack?
Was it groundbreaking?

This will put things in better perspective.

You people don't have any idea about this article do you??
'Who made the best Nexus phone "FOR ITS TIME" '...does that make any sense to you????
Now i'm wondering if the people who gave the votes kept that in mind or voted for the best among them!!!

Apparently those who voted for Nexus One KEPT in mind the "for its time" fact!

I just imagine that beautifull HTC Deluxe DLX being the Nexus Phone and love it!

I think its obvious that the new Nexus will always be better than the old Nexus, this to me was just a stupid comperisson. Its like asking people which iPad is better, the iPad 1, iPad 2, the New iPad or the iPad 4. Stupid article, i think. Then again it is just my opinion, hence there is a comment section to express our opinions

No, it wasn't. Otherwise Galaxy Nexus would be second. Galaxy Nexus, for it's time, had pretty terrible audio, camera, display, etc. LG has put a pin into all of these stuff. Display is one of the best, camera is great, audio, while not great, isn't bad either.

The poll says for its time think about the innovation that each device made for its time

Before you call a "comperisson" stupid, perhaps you should actually read it.

The device garnering the second-largest number of votes is the oldest of the four being compared--the Nexus One, manufactured by HTC in 2009.

Not sure LG would be still up if the Nexus 10 was included.

It is not logical to compare a 10 inch tablet to a smartphone..... =.=

Not the first time a loaded question is polled here, I think it was the Optimus G vs. SIII where users were asked which one would they choose if not for the massive advertisement, suggesting the S3 is only good because of that.

For it's time IMO the HTC is the best Nexus, but I think the Nexus 10 is the most awesome package.

I agree with you on Htc Nexus One... But any thing made by Samsung is so cheap quality... Good to see Asus and LG making Nexus devices now.

Not exactly true, Sammy fares better in this drop test than LG and even Apple for that matter. The Nexus 10 is very well built and good news for future Sammy products.

I'm not saying Sammys phones are less strong by any mean. (if you drop a glass of plastic and a glass of glass (represents apple) the one made of glass will eventualy break). I was talking about the feel itself. Thank you for your understanding.

That is because Nexus 4 has the glass backing, just like the iPhone 4/4S. If we remove the Glass backing, put cheapo plastic the one in the Galaxy Nexus, LG Nexus 4 would fare better.

Your idiotic comment follows many of equally astonishing stupidity.

All of you are complete morons. Had you bothered to read the results--or even the fucking headline--you would have noticed that he device garnering the second-most votes is the Nexus One, manufactured by HTC in 2009.

Yes, that is the oldest one--for those of you who are also unable to perform simple arithmetic.

Anyway I vote for nexus 4... Don't get me wrong, nexus 1 has a sturdy looking design... It just that... Look at the back of nexus 4, made up of GLASS!!! I love it :)

the difference being that Samsung purposefully holds back on nexus devices because they do not want them to be able to keep up with the galaxy/note line. Its not in their best interests. The NexusS and G-Nex were not "top of the line" phones on release. LG has nothing to lose and can only gain by the frenzy for a great Nexus and went all out. And So far they are getting more positive press than they have in the last few years combined. LG "needs" the nexus, samsung doesnt. HTC was in a position like LG's this year as well, but they dont have the hardware capabilities to bring the economies of scale down like LG/Sammy to keep the phone cheaper.

I agree. I could only imagine a galaxy nexus inside the Note 1 sans the hardware button. a nexus phablet. this will polarize everything that should be polarized.

I thought the lack of LTE was huge, like how can this be the 2013 nexus flagship with NO lte.... I use to think 4G was fast enough, but it's nothing compared to lte

The nexus one was the best... This year LG made the phone in order to be cheap.. that's all... With 300 bucks you can't afford an HTC or Samsung...

Folks, you're comparing past with present and old tech vs new. I bet $100 if Samsung came out with the GNexus 2, it would blast this LG nexus out of the sky.

Indeed. That's why I feel my GNex on sprint is still a great phone to ride with another year.

the problem with samsung is that they are making a powerful phone but with cheap plastic construction... its not as appealing as it should be... they should really make some major changes in their designs and designers! and ofcourse the material they will use!

even most devices has a samsung on it (processor, battery, etc etc) but i dont see a lot of samsung device! only phones... and thats it! TVs in my place sony still king next LG... loptops, either lenovo or HP... etc...

This is not rocket science, people. If you want a commodity device, you give it to Samsung. Google got exactly what it expected from that relationship--to put it in every grubby pair of hands it could reach.

Now that Android is the biggest operating system on the planet, they can afford to restore a little exclusivity to the flagship device. HTC would have been a proven choice, but LG has done a creditable job with the Nexus 4.

No objections? Of course not--this is all pretty obvious and merits nothing in the way of heated discussion.

I would like to know whether Nokia was ever courted for the Nexus job. They make killer hardware, and announcing a Symbian-to-Android switch with the revelation that they would be manufacturing the flagship Android device might have jolted Nokia back into relevance for many people.

I have owned Motorola devices since the original Droid A855--and under Google ownership, I am looking forward to Google bringing Nexus manufacture in-house--but until that happens, I would have been excited about a Nokia-built Nexus device.
