You mean Metal is patent of Apple coz Apple discovered metal. Before that we used Wood. But when Apple dicovered Metal, everyone was amazed with this "never-before-seen" wierd shining material. So if anyone uses metal, its a copy.. Get your brains checked. Also read comment # 25.

SAMSUNG IS THE KING OF COPYCAT!

LG MOBILE IS ALWAYS WINNER IN DESIGN AWARDS ,WHILE SAMSUNG DID NOT WIN DESIGN AWARDS!

IF LG WILL MAKE A METALLIC PHONE DOESN'T MEAN THEY COPY SAMSUNG!

SAMSUNG IS NOT THE FIRST MANUFACTURER TO MADE A METAL PHONE!

Maybe not, but they were making metal phones BEFORE Apple even made smart phones. Case in point back in 2007:http://www.techgadgets.in/mobile-phones/2007/14/samsung-metal-series-mobile-phones-revealed-in-india/

Just for clarification it is a mobile phone as you mentioned (yeah it's not a smartphone but it is a mobile phone nonetheless).

Ok. Apple didn't invent metal phone and if somebody else does metal phone, it's not copying. Deal?

OK, so if it's not invented by Apple, no ones copying, if it is invented by Apple, then it's copying? Guess I can't fault the flawless logic there.

What I like is that he brought up the Prada. The Prada predated the iPhone 4 and Apple totally copied the basic design. LG has a history of design that predates Apples.

YEAHH THATS RIGHT! BECAUSE LG ITSELF IS A STRAIGHT COPY OF SAMSUNG!! THEY MADE METAL PHONES FOR SELF DEFENSE SO THAT YOU CAN KNOCK OFF THOSE ASSH*LES. HAHA

Why bother saying SAMMY copies? everyone copies everyone jeezes. Rumors say they were coming out with a metal type phone, and besides LG can't surpass SAMSUNG in sales so why bother fight with SAMSUNG

I don't get the hype about metal phones. They do feel "premium" in hands but they have more disadvantages than other materials when it comes to smartphones.
OEMs should follow Motorola's path and develop composite materials like kevlar and carbon fiber instead. These are real premium materials.

Metal is nice but my main issue with plastic is most OEMs don't understand that the majority of people don't want a bunch of fingerprints all over their device and make phones with glossy plastic. COUGH COUGH LG AND SAMSUNG COUGH COUGH.

Since the Note 3, Samsung is no longer using the glossy plastic back.

I agree, I just wish they had used something other than what they did on the S5. A soft touch matte back with out the dimples would've been much better received IMHO. It looked like crap on the 2012 Nexus 7 as well. The only thing that'd be worse is if they used a diamond tuck pattern.

I don't think it looks as bad as some but I also don't think it looks any better than the Faux leather. Samsung is complicating things too much, plain matte back, that's all it needs!

Phones are one of the most highest collectors of germs. If your phone is covered in fingerprints, it's overdue for a cleaning.

Must +1 to you on this because my Galaxy mega gets fingerprints like hell xD
I am not too against glossy plastic either though. My new Galaxy Light shows very little to no fingerprints. I can somehow say it's glossy, though it's not the same back as on the Mega.

Totally agree on carbon fiber! It's light and much stronger than plastic and doesn't have the caveats of metal.

but thicker as a result sometimes, because it is a fabric that is pressed then the epoxy. While 'lighter' is relative when your dealing with this type of product.

Apple created that illusion with their so called premium phones...very laughable that anyone calls an iphone a premium smartphone

True it's not all about the metal Samsung does not use it but they control android market and I think a phone with a good UI and design, useful features has very high chances of success.
