LG event at MWC to show off LG Mini GD 880, 2 other models
A week from tomorrow, LG will be hosting an Open House at the MWC in Barcelona. On the agenda is three of LG's newest models including the next generation smartphone from the Korean based firm, the GW990. This is LG's first device to run the Linux based Moblin 2.1 OS. Also on tap to be seen at the Open House is the LG GT540 which is the manufacturer's next Android flavored model, and the LG Mini GD880. This model is the slimmest cellphone devised by the company. Those attending the Open House will get to see hands-on demonstrations of all three models,

Of the three devices, the LG Mini GD880 Mimi has been rumored to be in existence and the Open House invitation confirms that this handset is real. According to Be Geek, the specs for the Mini include a 3.2 inch touchscreen with DROIDesque resolution of 480 x 854 pixels, but only 262,144 colors. The phone uses LG's 3D S class UI and is equipped with a 5MP camera with AF. The device comes with 100MB of memory and also includes a microSD slot. As for connectivity, the phone is a GSM//GPRS/EDGE quad band ( 850, 900, 1800, 1900MHz) and UMTS/HSDPA dual band (900, 2100MHz). Wi-Fi and GPS is also on board. We should know a lot more next Tuesday.
