Looks like LG is taking the best pieces of everyone except for that TouchWiz look

meh, another 1 ghz processor4.3", 4g enabled phone. not much distinguishing this from the thunderbolt. LG now has dual core and 3D coming. they're coming on other carriers, why the hell is Verizon so behind?

VW is always behind in phones. And I'm getting tired of it. I'm a long time VW customer, and I have long waited for the Thunderbolt. How awful to read in every review that the phone quality is not top-notch. So I'm supposed to pay $300 plus tax, plus $50 for a spare battery, plus extra for accessories (well over $400) for a unit whose basic function isn't up to par with other models? Forget it.
Now I like the UI demonstrated in this video, and I'm going to hang on to check out the Revolution and Samsung's new phone. I lost my smartphone a few months ago, and I dug out an old LG clamshell to use in the meantime. It hadn't been turned on for 18 months, and when I activated it, it still had a full charge. LG's was the best basic phone I ever owned, so I'm keeping my hopes up. But if there are problems, I might just bolt to Sprint. We need more competition, and although 3D is just a gimmick, I would consider their service just to keep a third carrier around.
And the less said about the deathstar phone company, the better.

Verizon is FAR from behind... They made android what it is. Sure tmobile was the first with an android phone but very few people had it and if you asked the average person if they knew what android was they would have no clue.
Verizon is AHEAD if you ask me. But at the same time they usually have much more testing that they put phone through. For example the Thunderbolt could have been released much earlier but VZW delayed it.
As far as dual core I don't get all the hype. My thunderbolt is rocking 50+MFLOPs my incredible is under 30 MFLOPs so even though they both have 1GHz processors the thunderbolts is obvously changed some things.
With the whole dual-core thing you have to ask yourself does your 1ghz phone run slow? Mine doesn't so I will take SENSE UI on a single core over Motorolas thing on a dual-core
Also it isn't VERIZON it is HTC that put a single core they probably didn't see a big enough increase in performance to justify the cost.

That's strange to hear you guys say Verizon is behind. I'm on Sprint and I always think we're behind in the devise department. But I guess really no matter who you have there will always be a phone that the other guy has that we want. I was very happy with my EVO 4g (still am) but look forward to the new EVO 3D. I just wish it didn't take these guys so long to release the phone after they announce them. I often wonder if they would sell more devices if they went on sale the following day of the announcement. Like if the EVO 3D was available this morning, they would've had lines around the block. But I guess then you couldn't do pre orders. IDK I'm rambling.

Technically Tmobile has by far the best android lineup. It may not have the 4.3 inch android phones (yet), but it has by far the most to choose from, the fastest processors and internet speeds, and they have the least amount of carrier crap on them.

I think remixfa better check those speeds again. VZW has the fastest internet speeds. Remember when the tests were done on the smartphones, VZW did not have a 4G phone to test. But the internet cards were available and they blew the competition away. As for dual core, all it will do is help with multitasking and gaming. If you are really doing that much on your phone, maybe you should consider a tablet. Larger screen and very light to carry. I do however think VZW is missing the boat on 3D. Gimmick or not, its a hot topic right now.

It's called Google Android for a reason. If I want Bing, I'll get WP7. And even then, I'd googlefy that phone too.

I still fail to see what VZW gets out of this deal to put Bing on every other Android phone. Did they have some longstanding agreement to sell Windows phones that they reneged on and as punishment have to lock Bing search on their phones?

OMG!!!!!! ive been waiting for this phone for so long only to find out that it runs on BING?!!!! WTF?!!!? thats easy to root right?
17. roldefol (Posts: 2971; Member since: 28 Jan 2011)
Alright, I get that people here understand the concept of rooting phones. But suppose you're an ordinary guy walking into a Verizon store and you're looking at three indentically spec'd smartphones. You've used Google for years, and you know Android is Google's OS. You're net savvy and have no love for MS, but you're no programmer and don't feel comfortable hacking your own phone. Are you going to even consider a phone with a big BING on the home screen?
