0. phoneArena posted on 02 Apr 2012, 23:00

The first time that Sprint tried to update the LG Optimus S to Gingerbread, it ended up spreading a bug that would not let users of the device charge up their phone; Sprint has now corrected the problem with the software and is once again willing to update the LG Optimus S to Android 2.3...

The last one was a mess, but overall its a solid entry-level smartphone. Hardly ever see any issues (except those still stuck with the bad update) with these; very reliable, moderately quick, decent reception. It actually went up in price recently, directly from Sprint that is. Hopefully this update fixes everything wrong with the last one but also adds some features and/or performance that wasn't there last time...a little something for those who stuck with the phone through all the troubles

They took too long. I just bought a used Epic from a coworker and not looking back. The Optimus was a good phone initially but apparently with the latest update in conjunction with updates to the apps I normally use like Facebook, its been too much for it to handle. Facebook constantly force closed, the only downloaded app that still works good on it is Twitter. The Epic has worked out great for me so far, so not looking back.
