I really like to buy a nexus phone so I can always get the latest android OS, but the problem is they always come with lower power processor. I wish this new phone from LG with the same specifications was named nexus instead of optimus G.

You haven't heard of the LG Optimus Nexus? Exact same specs as this, quad core S4 Pro and 2 GB RAM, just it's a Nexus. Should be releasing at the end of the month. Can't believe you haven't heard about it with all the previews and pictures.

That hasn't been confirmed yet. You have to realize, that was said for the unofficial test unit. Do you really think Google is going to only give it 8 GB when it releases? No. There might be an 8 GB model, but there surely will be 16 and 32 GB models as well. Google is smarter than that.

I would not be so sure about that! The Galaxy Nexus was meant to have had 16gb and 32gb variants but internationally, at least, only the 16gb option was available. As much as I loved the phone, I could not live with 16gb and no room additional memory and sold it.
In the absence of anything else, the One X+ seems to be a better option especially as not sure the LG Optimus is slated for release in the UK and when.

Its still an A9 Cortex.... There are 3 version of the A9.

Wrong. Snapdragon S4 Pro is based on the latest Cortex A15 (28nm) architecture, not A9. I might be wrong, but the only other processor that is commercially selling with Cortex A15 right now is the dual core version of Qualcomm's Snapdragon S4.

Wrong, there are no A15 based chips on any phone available to the public currently.

He never said anything about them being avail on a phone. Also, the A15 comes in dual core with modem built and and a quad core with no modem

Actually there are already quite a few phones on the market that are based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Krait (A15, 28nm) chipset.
LTE versions of the Samsung Galaxy S3 and HTC One X in the US are 2 major devices for starters.

There are no actual Cortex A15 chips on the market yet. The S4 pro is just BASED on the cortex A15 architecture, but is not actually using it because none have been produced yet. Next year companies will take the cortex A15 design and implement their own version of it, such as the upcoming Exynos 5, tegra 4 and so on..but no device has them yet...so. in the mean time the s4 pro is the closest thing your gonna get to an A15, as none are out till Q1 next year...if you can wait 4 -5 months for one to be released...

Thats true. Halfbaked os. Now just imagine the A6 was clocked at 1.6ghz and the PVRSGX543MP4 Gpu was overclocked to 527Ghz.

i don't get it, is this truly meant to be the next google phone?
if so whats with the (what appear to be) bunch of proprietary LG features, google phone's tend to stay fairly close to stock android, unless of course a lot of that is being added to key lime pie.
EDIT: oh wait, LG optimus G and LG Optimus Nexus are different products? very well.
as for LG optimus G, if it's not a google phone then it will of course likely follow standard crappy LG protocol of having the bootloaders locked down tighter than a crabs buttocks. D:

I had recommended this phone to my girlfriend, until i learned how terrible the camera is, especially in low light or with night pictures. Notice they only shot a few picture in bright light and in sterile conditions. I like this phone for its specs, but i like my girlfriend more, and wouldn't want her to be angry at me. You wouldn't like her when she's angry.

Actually, given the reviews to date, other than the fact that it will be stock android, there is no reason whatsoever to opt for this Nexus! LG Optimus G, HTC One X+ would seem to be the top predators in the Android world, even when this is released! Forget the S3.........great phone but poor build quality.

It gives the same package as both the Optimus G and the One X+, just with stock and immediate, guaranteed updates for at least 2 years. That's what sets it over the top for most people.
