LG Optimus G for AT&T gets non Jelly Bean update

0. phoneArena 31 Mar 2013, 13:54 posted on

The LG Optimus G, or at least the model wearing the colors of AT&T, is getting an update today, but before you jump up and down all excited, this is not the update that brings Android 4.1 to the phone; rather, it appears to be a maintenance update of some sort with Android 4.0.4 remains installed on the device after downloading and installing the update...

Too bad Sprint's got Jellybean starting 3 weeks ago... but an update for maintenance is better than no support at all

The only thing I've noticed is an added option to change your icon for most apps. If you push and hold most icons there is now a paint brush that pops up on the corner of the icon. Push it and you can customize to preset options or change the icon to a picture from your gallery. It would be awesome to find out if there are any additional changes.

I didnt notice any change. Hopefully this is a small pre update to 4.1
I am not happy about how long it is taking AT&T to update to JB with a flagship device like the LGOG. I am about to dump this phone for the Nexus4 or the next iPhone. If it cant even get updated to JB how the hell is ever gonna get the next major update after that?
