"When has LG ever been the best in the phone market?"
That doesn't mean that LG can't one day beome the best in the phone market.

Listen, LG can't even built a decent flip phone, never mind a so called smartphone. Speaking from experience.
51. remixfa (Posts: 14255; Member since: 19 Dec 2008)
They have the iphone 5, Nexus, SGS3, and are getting the Note2. I think they have "the best" covered.
VZW used to have a real cozy relationship with LG. It would surprise me if they didnt get the phone sometime.

No Verizon is getting the LG Optimus G Nexus! That phone would be SICK!
62. D3VR04 (Posts: 34; Member since: 10 Jan 2010)
VZW will get the htc 5" s4 pro, a320, 2g ram, good alt!
29. Brewski (Posts: 123; Member since: 05 Jun 2012)
Keep an eye out for the LG Optimus Blaze. It should be almost the same except the antenna and possibly have a brushed metal back...
39. KingKurogiii (Posts: 5688; Member since: 23 Oct 2011)
Verizon was the first to be rumored to get it and if Sprint is getting it i'm sure Verizon is. Verizon has stayed pretty tight with LG over the years. the Verizon version just hasn't turned up yet.

Once again verizon fails, god i wanted a good phone for verizon but looks like im waiting for the note 2. f**k u Verizon!

I was leaning towards the galaxy note but I head snapdragon s4 pro kicks the quad core exynos's ass. true ?
6. XPERIA-KNIGHT (unregistered)
it kicks the exynos found in the galaxy's .....true
18. wendygarett (unregistered)
In term of benchmarking you are wrong...
But in term of developer support you are right...
Exynos has lack of support that many Google apps not compatible to exynos...
11. hung2900 (Posts: 891; Member since: 02 Mar 2012)
Still no Jelly Bean so Note 2 will kick Optimus G's ass in user experience. And don't forget how many new and useful feature there are on Note 2.
I still don't know why people always want "on paper" strength, while user experience and battery life are much more important.
13. true1984 (Posts: 694; Member since: 23 May 2012)
if i decide to get it its gonna be rooted within an hour and i'm ditching the optimus ui
14. XPERIA-KNIGHT (unregistered)
yea thats why i say the one x+ is the best over all choice.......has jellybean installed, bench marks on par with the S4 pro, improved spec sheet, better rear and front facing camera, new sense update 4+, and amazing build quality and design.............note 2 may have alot of features but they fail again to make a premium device that appeals to people........
17. hung2900 (Posts: 891; Member since: 02 Mar 2012)
And you want a phone that battery life is hardly 4 hours screen on? Vs a battery removable phone with average more than 7 hours of the first cycle and even reaching 10 hours on screen ?
And how about expandable memory? Stylus with a hovering mouse and 1024 presure level? Multiscreen? Smart rotation (ok a little bit gimmick)?
Oh I forget the beautiful multitasking "feature" of OneX with 1 GB RAM.
22. XPERIA-KNIGHT (unregistered)
ummm for one thing where the note 2 completely fails is its 5.5 inches! wth?? and im pretty sure the 2100 mAh battery on the one x+ is sufficient enough especially with jellybean on board as well as the new sense update.......it has 32 or 64gb installed so why do i need an expandable slot again??
you samsung fans keep mentioning this removable battery as if it out weighs the terrible design of the device!
Yes id rather have a beautiful device with and great battery......maybe not great like razr maxx but well capable of handling its own........
Samsung can have all the features in the world but until they realease a phone that "looks" like its worth the price then there is no reason to choose it over a well built HTC pohne.........just the way i see it dood...
27. hung2900 (Posts: 891; Member since: 02 Mar 2012)
Why does Note 2 completely fail with 5.5 inch screen? Some love something big, some love something handy, that's only opinion. You don't like that size, I see, but at least more than 10 millition people liked it and bought it (which even more than the aggregate number of WP).
I didn't say microSD and removable were the main reasons like others, but what's wrong with them when I mentions a list of strengths?
I haven't used OneX yet, but I saw a lot of complaints about battery (a little bit more than 3 hours screen-on, so don't expect an overclock version with 300mAh bigger battery can be sufficient enough) and the damage on the camera glass cover. What the latter can tell you? You need a case for you phone. But with the case you lost a part of its beauty and "premium" materials. I don't like cases so I didn't buy it.
30. XPERIA-KNIGHT (unregistered)
well first i gotta say, while me saying the 5.5 inch is a fail, is indeed an opinionated statement.....You can believe me when i say you are in the "minority" when it comes to people wanting a phone that size! Yes the note 1 did sell 10 million units but when comparing to how many people DID NOT buy it?? i think you get a broader view of the picture......it is only going to sell to a specific group of people......and whos to say those people buying the note, bought it specifically for the use of a phone!! LOL i get feeling the people that bought the note had more then one phone....you know like a "smaller" more comfortable in the hand one? I get feeling people look at the note more so as a mini tablet than they do a phone........which also leads me to believe they go out and buy it not with the mindset of "im going to like making phone calls on this device" but more so the mindset of "this has alot of features on it and i can use it for other things similar to what a tablet does".............
As for the battery complaints you are hearing and reading about on HTC phones? Well ill just say this......I hear the opposite of what you hear I watch reviews on the one s and the One X and people seem to say the battery is pretty good....so thats why i say its sufficient enough for most people
33. hung2900 (Posts: 891; Member since: 02 Mar 2012)
Yep. 10 million for 10 months is not large but decent. The first gen iPad sold only ~15 million for the first year.
About battery, I don't know which side but they're from HTC OneX battery stats thread on xda
Here are the latest stats
Almost over 3 hours on-screen only
35. XPERIA-KNIGHT (unregistered)
yea i understand how things may look on paper but alot of people say that things on sheet hold no weight to real world performance because it really boils down to how you, "the user" tend to use your phone.......
But with most reviews i watch on youtube reporting that the battery is well capable of holding its own tells me their wont be much to regret.......and yes with these updates to jelly bean and the new sense updates they are supposed to give you even more battery life than normal......All in all if the battery isnt "as" great as the S3 or note is........you can believe the design and build quality is!
So whats the best overall choice? A phone that has power and beauty? or a phone that has has power and nice tricks but a mediocre (at best) look and feel? Because when i buy a phone and pay ALOT of money for it.........I want it too not only perform well, but i want it too look and feel just as damn good.........peace man nice chatting :)

I feel the exact same day about the Note series. it always seemed like an impractical gimmick to me. The phone barely fits in a pocket, To big for easy one handed use, stylus/S-Pen seems impractical and and unnecessary although it can be useful very useful especially since you will most likely need to use two hands to use this phone and drawing but, I don't really know that many people who consider drawing on their smartphone worth the added price of the S-Pen. Personally prefer a uni-body design and don't really care about expandable memory.

Wow a monster phone that still doesn't have a social network integration inside like Windows phone, frienstream has, even the outdated ios6 and RIM has that, poor lonely monster due to lack of developer support...
26. wendygarett (unregistered)
Oh and Sony timescape has that too, no?
31. doejon (Posts: 392; Member since: 31 Jul 2012)
its a good phone but nothing special.. the feature phone will also have this cpu lol the note 2 features kicks optimus g´s ass and the lg software is not the best optimus g with ics? samsung has managed to bring the note 2 after a short time of the rls of jb on the note 2
a lot of lg phones are not getting jb or ics xD
yep but the optimus g is still a very good phone but as i said nothing special..
34. PhoneArenaUser (Posts: 5498; Member since: 05 Aug 2011)
In most parts I agree with you but actually there is two really special things about this smartphone:
2) Battery with new chemicals.
53. doejon (Posts: 392; Member since: 31 Jul 2012)
hmm i personaly like the amoled more than the other technology displays..
and we will see in tests how the batterylife will be
anyways.. im looking forward to this phone to read some tests but i will go for the note 2
in my opinion the most complete phone at the moment it has anything of everything :D
phone of the year 2012
but i respect the people who says that the note is too big :-)
sry 4 my english
59. PhoneArenaUser (Posts: 5498; Member since: 05 Aug 2011)
"hmm i personaly like the amoled more than the other technology displays.."
I prefer LCD based screens over OLED based screens. OLED based screens has more disadvantages than advantages and those disadvantages are pretty essential.
But yes, everyone is free to decide what is better for them. :)
"and we will see in tests how the batterylife will be"
Yes, we will see test results, but this new battery is not about capacity, it is about longer lifespan (more charging cycles).
"but i respect the people who says that the note is too big :-)"
Yes, agree, for my choice Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is also to big.
"sry 4 my english"
It is ok, my English is also away from perfect. :)

Maybe in benchmarks, not sure about that, but in real life user experience, Exynos would be buttery smooth especially when combined with some Jelly Bean goodness!

I don't like LG but I am impressed with this device. Well done LG n best of Luck

This bad boy or One X+? What do you guys think?
9. darkskoliro (Posts: 1061; Member since: 07 May 2012)
Tbh wait for HTC's 5 inch 1080p monster.
SoC wise LG is better than the OneX+ but tbh I think OneX+ is looking very very enticing in every other aspect...
10. PhoneArenaUser (Posts: 5498; Member since: 05 Aug 2011)
I'm also have the same dilemma but I will wait for more news about new Nexus smartphones. :)
7. Ravail (Posts: 182; Member since: 14 Oct 2011)
Normally LG doesnt appeal to me.. but i must say this is impressive.
16. Nadr1212 (Posts: 741; Member since: 22 Sep 2012)
So not getting the one from Sprint (yeah right ;P)
19. BadAssAbe (Posts: 435; Member since: 22 Apr 2011)
Lets list some more specs
Smaller, thiner and narrower than the GS3
Quadcore in the states that is faster than GS3 with 2GB of ram
1st device with WIFI direct steaming :)
Glass on front and back
28. hung2900 (Posts: 891; Member since: 02 Mar 2012)
Bad history about support:) That's the main reason:)
32. PhoneArenaUser (Posts: 5498; Member since: 05 Aug 2011)
Agree, it is also mine reason, but at the moment I don't see the any other reason to not like LG. :)
36. hobble (Posts: 130; Member since: 11 Oct 2011)
I got the lg thrill a while back, and it was enough to stear me away from lg forever more.
41. hobble (Posts: 130; Member since: 11 Oct 2011)
Battery life was turrrrible. Worst I've ever encountered, even with extended batteries + extra batteries it was bad. On top of that, poor dev support + poor carrier support, it never saw past 2.2 when I had it, not sure if it has gone further than that now. The camera and 3d display was awesome, but overall a terrible user experience IMO.
43. PhoneArenaUser (Posts: 5498; Member since: 05 Aug 2011)
I'm just asking because I want to buy new smartphone and at the moment I'm between HTC One X + and LG Optimus G also waiting for more news about new Nexus smartphones. Thanks for reply. :)
+1 for you.

Can somebody please explain to me what the goddamn point is to have a 8mp camera for AT&T?
*waiting for the reveal of the Nexus phones*
58. BabyWade (Posts: 42; Member since: 12 Jun 2012)
The 8mp camera doesn't have a bulge on the back like the 13mp camera.
60. The_Innovation (Posts: 597; Member since: 18 Jul 2012)
I'm fine with the bulge, I would prefer better quality over small bulge.
45. InspectorGadget80 (Posts: 7043; Member since: 26 Mar 2011)
I may have to look at the LG OPTIMUS G. the last LG phone i used to have was the VU.
46. JBurd3 (Posts: 11; Member since: 07 Mar 2012)
Optimus or Note II???? decisions decisions... Havent LG phones sucked balls??? Anybody know??? I've have literally ZERO experience with LG phones
50. SuperMaoriBro (Posts: 470; Member since: 23 Jun 2012)
"32GB of native storage which can be expanded to 80GB using the microSD slot on the phone"
The maths is wrong here. 32GB + 64GB = 96GB, to get 80GB would require a 48GB SDcard which would be an odd amount to support. Or alternatively there is only 16GB on board + 64GB SDcard = 80GB.
More important though, all the "first hands on" videos floating around show only a sim card slot and no SDcard slot, and there was an interview done with the designer who stated they purposely didn't include the SDcard slot but I can't remember the reason, probably something about style or design asthetics or something like that.
52. remixfa (Posts: 14255; Member since: 19 Dec 2008)
I would like the phone more if it had a 2600+mah battery. It would throw it on my radar for sure.
54. GeekMovement (Posts: 2010; Member since: 09 Sep 2011)
Woah coming to Sprint? That is amazing! I would so get it if I still had an upgrade available. Darn~
55. cGmC11 (Posts: 131; Member since: 02 Apr 2012)
The screen of the pictured phone says 10/21/2012!
...that's the release day?
56. skymitch89 (Posts: 1214; Member since: 05 Nov 2010)
Seems like a good device, but I'm still considering the Note 2 as my next device.
