and after watching that quick review........opening aps and scrolling looked blistering fast!! now just imagine jelly bean on a phone like this....

4. Berzerk000 posted on 20 Sep 2012, 00:57 4

There wouldn't really be any difference in speed with Jelly Bean... It's already instantaneous lol

5. XPERIA-KNIGHT posted on 20 Sep 2012, 01:01

i mean seriously tho..... did you see how fast everything was? i get the feeling this phone would be amazing to own!

7. Berzerk000 posted on 20 Sep 2012, 01:12 4

I watched the video, it was blazing fast. I just don't enjoy LG's Optimus UI, and I don't like the design as much as I thought I would. Waiting for specs like these to hit the next Nexus, or maybe a Motorola...

There's always CM10 dude! Imagine the goodness of CM10 on this thing

11. Berzerk000 posted on 20 Sep 2012, 02:35 1

Yes, that's all well and dandy, but I don't enjoy rooting too much. I know by not rooting you can't unlock the complete magic of Android, but I would rather have a Nexus with stock Android than root all of my phones to get it.

Plus, there's still that thing about the design... I just don't like it like I though I would, it seems great on pictures, but when I saw it in video it looks awfully different and unappealing.

17. SuperAndroidEvo posted on 20 Sep 2012, 06:50

You know what? I agree, but if you root you won't have to deal with that at all. Imagine running STOCK Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean on that device.

I happen to think it looks very good & the overall performance of the Qualcomm quad-core S4 Pro is VERY, VERY evident. To me this device is extremely compelling & something totally unexpected from LG. To have the brawn & the looks in one package ESPECIALLY from LG is REALLY nice.

I have to say this phone can be a sleeper hit & something that can put LG in the limelight. It is a very sexy device!

Yes, I know, but I never like compromising my warranty.

To each his own I guess, in the press pictures it looked better than on actual video in my opinion; not that it's a bad looking device, just not my cup of tea so to speak. Yes, it is VERY fast, but there's still that problem I have with LG's UI, and my lack of will to root...

For an LG, this is a VERY VERY nice device, like, mind blowing. But when compared to everything else, it's just really nice (notice lack of caps and double "very"s). And it's a huge step in the right direction for the company. But, for me, it's just not quite there yet. I have yet to find the perfect device that I don't need to root or jailbreak, get an extended battery for, or walk outside to be able to get a signal again.

I needed an extended battery for my Sensation, but I liked Sense and it held a signal relatively well; my GS2 does great on battery, but Touchwiz is terrible and the signal drops whenever I put it in my pocket; my iPhone 4 (yes, I'm a former iPhone user) was boring so I jailbroke it, battery was ok, but I had that antenna-gate problem. Never really had the "perfect" smartphone experience just yet. Hopefully the next Nexus will fix my problems.

LG just did its best to make this phone. I believe this phone will change the image of this company in the smartphone market.

Best of luck LG it is really a superb device....!!!

"In addition, it’s pretty wide in the hand and boxy looking, which seemingly makes it a bit cumbersome to hold in the hand" says John V. here
&
"Even though it sports a very large 4.7” display, it sits relatively comfortably in the hand, thanks to LG trying to shrink the bezel as much as possible. And the company's designers have really done a good job, seeing that they've managed to make it slightly shorter, narrower and even thinner than the HTC One X and Samsung Galaxy S III" said Pressian K. in the preview coupl'a days bak

Presuming the two variants(Korian & International) has same dimensions, the conclusion is that - The hand size of these two writers are quite unsimilar!!

haha! even gsmarena says the phone is quite comfortable to hold. so i guess John V has tiny lady hands LOL

This is perhaps my next smartpone. The design is really premium and looks great. It seems fast, I love the black front and whit back. Just goes against the normal. I am proud of you LG, are you ready to take my MONEY?

3:18 "typical with any high end android phone" REALLY? What other phone can you zoom into a video? This guy sucks at reviews, 1/2 the time he doesn't know what the hell he is talking about!

24. Berzerk000 posted on 21 Sep 2012, 05:35 1

Don't you insult John like that! Insult Ray... Jk. But yeah, I'm not aware of any phone that can zoom in and out of video either. John should look up on his facts! Or maybe I'm mistaken

25. u-suck-more posted on 21 Sep 2012, 09:16

only LG flagships can :/

I DON'T KNOW WHY!

I was unaware of this device until mid October. That's because I'v not been tempted by all the previous smart phone offerings. The Optimus G has been released in two variants by AT&T(E970) and Sprint(E973). Sprint has the version with the camera I want, but... WTF, it's Sprint -- based on my nightmares with Nextel, I cannot *EVER* do business with Sprint ("togther with Nextel" or not).

The AT&T device has a downgraded camera and the AT&T stores either don't have it in stock, or only have the low-storage version, and none have even been commissioned for in-store demo. I don't know why.

My current carrier is Verizon and I'm long past the comtract nightmare, I am also an AT&T U-verse subscriber. I would have thought that either company would help an existing customer, but they can't won't. I don't know why.

I'm ready to switch to T-Mobile and bring my own device, that's why I'm searching for the unlocked international flagship version of the Optimus G. I was given the link to this page by LG-USA support so it's possible they might actually monitor the messages here. I hope so... because:

Heads up LG! HTC has announced the DNA, which is based in the identical Snapdragon S4, and while it's only on Verizon right now I'll be able to get it in just a few days.

Either LG has been out manoevered by HTC or their comprehension of the market is really as bad as many of its detractors have indicated. I don't know which. I've been using my LG VX8300 for 5+ years and it has performed superbly! I wanted to extend LG's winning streak; but they are making it difficult... I don't know why.
