LG is not good at sofware, but this phone software is taken care of by Google. But I have reservation about the screen, Even if it's as good as Optimus G it's still worse than One X.

Yeah software for LG is nightmare. when I was working vzw tier 2 tech I dreaded LG software updates. For a month or 2 after was a mess.

why is it worse than the One X, it is S-LCD 2 after all which is the same as One X and I can only wish that when they make the official announcement they say its an S-LCD 3 panel...that would be awesome

For me, the only questions that remains are: "This phone will be sold in my country?" If yes "When?" and "How much?"

If the answer for the first question is "No", then the second question will be: "Why God, Why?!?!?!"

Lmao .. same here. But the other day I read that LG would launch it in India by end of Nov. only thing concerns me is How Much ? if its arround $450 (INR 24000 approx.) then I would surely get it. But if its over $500 then I might have to wait untill next NeXus.

I'm from Brazil. LG usually launch all the phones here. But we have some problems with the "Nexus" branding (legal rights from other company). The only Nexus that came officially here, was the Galaxy Nexus, but renamed to Galaxy X.

I think it is fake. It shouldn't have "Nexus" written on the back. It should be Google or the Nexus Colorful Symbol.

the Nexus 7 had it. it might be Google trying to popularize the Nexus name. it seems very legit. remember when the Nexus 7 press renders leak out to prior to the announcement? after all the details look precise especially the crystal back.

I think it seems legit.

You have to remember though this is one render out of how many? For all we know this could be the first or even the 100th.

I like the look of this one. but i really wish the rumor about there being multiple nexus devices would be true.

I hope it's real, love the look to the back. Looks very similar to my GNex, wondering if it will fit in my car dock. Never thought I'd be interested in a LG phone but this one has my attention right now, pending what comes out on the 29th.

Left notification could be any number of apps that have alerts. I wouldn't put too much stock in that, especially when screen images are commonly simulated.

I've never had an LG phone before. To be honest LG have never entered my mind when looking for a new phone but after seeing the reviews of the Optimus G and this being official unveiled next week I think LG are a definite contender for my next phone.

You guys are being a bit too harsh on LG. Let the phone come out, then we'll judge. Do you forget 10 years ago Apple was no where as powerful as it is today? Neither was Samsung. People used to make fun of the Korean market. Now they are competing equally, if not beating the other markets, especially the Japanese.

Remember those Kia's 10 years ago? Look at the Optima now.

Enough said.

fake, the Nexus logo doesn't seem to be effected by the shadow. 2 weather indicators and the battery percentage is very tiny.. unconvincing.

you guys are silly..

1) its a render, not an actual photo.

2) the "2 weather icons". This isnt iOS guys. If he has more than one app running that tracks weather (Google Now and Beautiful Widgets for example), it is possible to have more than one alert. It could also just be a silly photoshop mistake.

Chill out.

I dunno, I think it makes the phone look nicer than it has since all the leaks started coming out... less... ugly. lol.
It's my prime phone replacement choice at the moment, as long as reviews dont come out trashing it.

OK.
So I Already have the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. running JB.
Why do I want this phone?
I mean it looks the same as the one I have in my hand...
I'm running Jelly Bean and it is smooth and faster than anything running ICS - no matter what the specs of the particular phone... hands down JB is faster and smoother, so I really don't think this thing is noticeably faster than what I have - unless I'm wrong.

Because the Galaxy Nexus might slow down a bit when 4.2 comes out. Though, it isn't really necessary and you might not notice it too much, it's still a possibility. For Galaxy Nexus owners, you should probably wait until next year when the Nexus comes out, because the Galaxy Nexus is still a good option though being a year old and you'll have almost the same experience.

But, 3 things that you'll immediately notice improvements with this is the design, display, and camera. So if you're unsatisfied with the Galaxy Nexus in any of those areas, you might want to take a look. Otherwise, stick with the Galaxy Nexus if performance is still good when 4.2 comes out, which it most likely will be.

upgrades are designed for every 2 years. not for every year. Its not "I have a GN, why should I upgrade" Your not even in the equasion. They are looking at people that are tired of manufacturer and carrier bs (ME) who want the latest and greatest at all times (ME) who either have a Nexus S or older (not me) or have never had a nexus because there have always been too many compromises by manufacturers with them (ME), or havent upgraded in 2 years or more (ME).

Hardware wise, your looking at nearly 3x the horsepower of the GN from the older 40nm OMAP4 dual to the 28nm Krait Quad Pro. Its a slight upgrade in screen, and what should be a pretty solid upgrade in camera... and who knows what else.

It's sad though. If this were the GN2 with pretty much the same specs, I wouldnt be worried in the least. Because its an LG im still hesitant for reviews. Theyve always had issues in camera quality and I want to know what kind of sound chips/speakers are in this thing. Samsung uses some very high end sound equipment in their big phones.

I know, but some people are just nit-pickers or crazy tech enthusiasts who want the newest and greatest thing for them, even if they have the model from just a year before. Or maybe someone was unsatisfied with the Galaxy Nexus, but put up with it anyways only because it was a Nexus and didn't want to deal with carrier/manufacturer bull. There are a few situations where someone with the Galaxy Nexus would wish/need to upgrade to this.

I'm a little doubtful on LG's capabilities as well, but knowing that Google is working with them helps. Google will help LG stay away from their usual tendencies, and make the Nexus a top of the line handset to the market's standards and the holy grail of LG devices. Or, at least that's what I'm hoping. Still going to wait for some reviews on it, and if other manufacturers make a Nexus phone I'll take a look at them as well.

I think that's what most of us are thinking. LG makes some solid phones specwise and even buildwise but always falls short on software. With google at the helm of that, it SHOULD be better. As long as the camera is a top 25% camera and not just merely "average" or below and the reviews dont find something wrong with it, I'll be buying it without another thought.

Then again, I'm looking at my stock LG G-Slate with the "with google" logo on it and wondering why it never got upgraded past 3.1. Of course, I know why and it mostly has to do with Nvidia demanding money to release the hardware code, but still it doesnt inspire much confidence.
On a side note, I have CM10 on it and it runs just fine. :)

you can get JB on it. I've been running it for a few months. Its just through a CM10 offshoot. Works perfectly fine though for everything but the cameras which are DOA thanks to Nvidia.

The weather notifications look like customization add-ons from CM10, AOKP, and ParanoidAndroid. I highly doubt that those were added into stock JB.
