LG G2 QuickWindow case Hands-on

A premium smartphone deserves premium-grade protection, isn't that so? And if the LG G2 is the phone you've gone for, then the official QuickWindow case is among the options you may pick from. It is an LG-designed flip-style case that protects the handset from wear and tear, all the while allowing one to interact with the device even when the cover is down. No, there's no telepathy involved. Simply, a vertical cut-out on the front enables time, weather, and call info to be conveniently delivered to the user, hence the accessory's name...

I like that it's a whole case instead of just a back cover. I wonder how effecient it is though. The nice thing about the SAMOLED is that it only lights up the pixels being used. What will the IPS-LCD do to keep from the whole screen being on, or is that even possible?

I am guessing it is just gray, which can't take up that much power.

Gray or full white I think are the same, cos all LED lights have to turn on, "black" or "white" just depend on the color filter.
I did test with night reading mode on my tablet, not different from normal mode

If LG could stop copying Samsung, yup that would be great. Even the LG UI looks like a direct of Samsung touchwiz. Why is Samsung not suing LG? LG G2 looks like a black galaxy s3 without the Samsung logo!!!!!!!

Please first check out the touch screen phones of LG, before the whole Android ecosystem merged, like the K900 Arena. Check the UI and the icons of that and then tell me again who is copying who. Mobile user interfaces are not just 2-3 years old, take your time and dig a little deeper than that.

even phones before the Arena (like the Cookie) used this interface (at least very similar to it)

What the hell!!You have never used a LG device then.Your comment clearly indicates that. Optimus ui is far more customizable than Touchwiz & noway looks like Touchwiz. Its become a trend now of samsung fanboys. You people just post the same thing regarding this launcher thing on every LG post.Use before commenting anything about this.Go get a life!!

If people like you could stop spitting rubbish, yup that would be great. LG's UI is more customizable than Samsung's Touchwiz, this thing proves that LG's UI is better than Touchwiz. If you think LG's UI looks like Samsung's Touchwiz, you must be blind, or your mind is flooded with Galaxies.

They should have trolled the Apple by making the cut out a really tall and skinny 4 inch window and have an IOS mode. Call it Apple's BS one handed mode.haha

it is actually very nice.
But it's so much looks like a copy cat of Galaxy S4 Flip Cover....

It doesn't matter if it's a copy or not. It protects the phone from scratches and dents, that's enough. Plus it adds a little functionality. Android gives us choices and options all the time. Let's embrace it and be happy.

I was about to say the same thing. If someone doesn't like that it's similar to another phone, don't use it. The comments section of most articles has been over run by people wanting to scream about what's better, what's copying, who's sold more. It's really annoying. I like that phone arena added the "member since" section when you go over someone's username. Almost all of the ones complaining have been made within the last few months.

Actually it doesn't protect your phone from scratches cause the window is just a cutout without plastic as seen on the S-View Covers.
Absolutely retarded to make a "full protective case" that doesn't protect your phone where it scratches the most, why not just release a regular case then, at least that wouldn't give the ILLUSION that your front is covered, which is NOT the case with the QuickView.
Before the mandatory hate comes, I think the G2 is the best flagship phone currently available at the market, not that this should change the sentiment of the post. This case is a complete waste of money.

You've overlooked one of the most important features: The cutout lines up with the camera and controls on the back when flipped all the way around. No other covers I've seen do this. This allows you to firmly hold the device when taking pictures, without the cover flapping in the breeze. Other folio covers are awkward to use when using the camera. This is one smart cover...
AMOLED vs IPS: AMOLED, every pixel is a light source. IPS, a small array of LEDs illuminate the entire screen - using far less energy - while delivering the most accurate color.

I wonder how many different colors/texture cases are offered..
PS I am in love with this phone.

You here that?? Ya neither do I. I don't see Samsung or anyone else suing LG for using the Quick Windows case. Maybe Apple should learn.

Does anyone know of a DECENT heavier protection case along the lines of armour gear or otterbox out yet for this device in UK please? Also, nice pick up about the camera Zukidrvr!
