Okay, the LG VX8560 is replacing the LG VX8700. There is going to be an upgraded model to the Chocolate, and that is LG VX8610 Decoy.

To correct you...The 8610 is not a Chocolate replacement, nor was the Venus. The 8560 is also not replacing the chocolate, it is replacing the 8600 which was replaced by the 8700. This is the "chocolate flip" advanced past what the 8600 was. These are all in the "black label" series of phones that LG is putting out. Quite honestly, I think they put the model numbers backwards and the Decoy should be the 8560 and the 8560 as the 8610...then things would make sense in the progression of phones....but if they did that, there'd be nothing to talk about.

Its a cool idea, but the front of the phone, I dont believe is worth $229

14. (unregistered) posted on 31 May 2008, 10:53

Considering it comes with a bluetooth headset, I'd say $229 plus a $50 rebate? The price is just fine

Oh duh, you said the front of the phone bahahaha Yeah its not the best looking first look at the phone, I apologize for my previous comment hahaha

This phone looks like a real cool phone but its like more expensive than the venus and the samsung glyde.... There's something wrong with that...Way over priced!

21. (unregistered) posted on 31 May 2008, 15:01

It is less expensive then the Venus was at launch. You have to remember, prices fluctuate a LOT! The Venus is several months old and is down in price so that it can be moved. Phones tend to launch at a higher price than anyone wants...tough. The Glyde...there's a reason it's priced where it is....it sucks :)

11. (unregistered) posted on 30 May 2008, 21:43

i hope they lower the price. maybe they will figure it out since everyone who knows about the phone thinks it is too exensive

32. (unregistered) posted on 01 Jun 2008, 12:32

You say "everyone who knows about the phone thinks it is too exensive"? How about "everyone who thinks it is too expensive posted their opinion here". The people who don't think the phone is too expensive are simply ordering it over the phone instead of wasting time typing "I think it is not too expensive"

I created the detachable bluetooth headset concept for LG in early 2005. It's good to see that finally LG is getting it to production!! You can find an initial concept sketch here:http://saikatbiswas.com/website/Other_work/Concept_Sketching/Sketches/Sketch_005_Bluetooth.jpg

Very interesting! I hope the Bluetooth headset on the Decoy is comfortable and gets good quality.

28. (unregistered) posted on 01 Jun 2008, 10:17

so you would know if the BT headset sticks out alot when it's in the phone? also, was anyone at LG thoughtful enough to include a separate plastic cover to cover the headset slot when the headset was in use or if someone decided not to use the headset at all and keep it at home?

I got mine today. The Bluetooth headset works well, but has a large earpiece. I would have liked to have seen it fit in the ear better. It does not stick out very much at all when in place on the back of the phone. Also, it comes with a plastic filler panel for the back of the phone when the Bluetooth piece is out.

This phone is ugly as sin, but the built in bluetooth headset is a very big convenience. It's nice to see LG go with a little more functionality than style for once in a while. Don't get me wrong, all LG phones are good in their own respect, but this is just a little breath of fresh air considering all the touch screen and iPhone competition going on right now. However, this phone, nor any other phone Verizon has is enough for me to give up Sprint.

26. (unregistered) posted on 31 May 2008, 23:16

I love LG phones and have so since the vx3100 from waaayyyy back. It's about time VZW released this phone. I just hope the BT earpiece that's included isn't some generic piece of garbage ( I'm gonna get the Jawbone 2 anyways ). But speaking of "ugly" phones; Sprint has that market sewed up. You say this isn't enough to give up Sprint? Sprint???!!! Are you kiddin'? Two cups and a string is enough for me to leave Sprint.

33. (unregistered) posted on 01 Jun 2008, 12:42

HAHAHAHAHA "two cups and a string". Its awesome how true that is. PLEASE tell me what sprint has that you love so much. I'm DIEING to know. Is it the "Going out of bussiness sale" prices? Or the push-to-talk technology they were required by the fed government to retire 4 months ago?

Five simple words that no other company out there can offer me: Mogul on a SERO plan.

24. (unregistered) posted on 31 May 2008, 17:44

Will it have as bad a reception as the LG 8600?

27. (unregistered) posted on 01 Jun 2008, 07:16

Our first and worst phone was LG. It was the worst phones we've ever gotten for our Verizon service. We went to Motorlola and won't look back.

34. (unregistered) posted on 01 Jun 2008, 12:46

Its so weird to me to hear something like that. I work at VZW and I see first hand what phones come back. The single strongest brand HANDS DOWN is LG. The single most hated brand, and I mean HATED brand is motorola. Some reps won't even sell the Krazr for fear it will be the reason the customer leaves the company lol
