LG Connect 4G hands-on

0. phoneArena posted on 08 May 2012, 15:15

Right away, we’re reminded about the LG Lucid as we take a look at the LG Connect 4G, mainly because its sports a plastic body that’s extremely compact for something donning a 4-inch display. Overall, it feels very solid in the hand, while being accompanied with a good amount of weight...

You can make jokes about metro all you want. But people who use metro are saving on average at least $600 bucks a year. You can get this phone with unlimited everything for $50 a month or $40 a month. The $40 plan has 250 mb of 4g and than 3g the rest of the month. The $50 has 2.5 gb of 4g. I dont do constant browsing like you apparently do and find that metros 3g is sufficent. Plus I am probably saving $720 a year over most smartphone contracts. Thats equals 3.5 car payments for me.

I never could understand MetroPCS' pricing structure. Plus it's 4G speed is ridulously slow when compared to Verizon. So yes, you do save money, but you also get what you paid for.

As for saving money on a data plan Virgin's $35 a month (I'm grandfathered at $25 a month) or Tmobile's $30 a month are great alternatives to MetroPCS.

True. But you dont get unimited minutes with virgin. I dont know about tmo. While it is indeed true that the 4g will not be as fast as the big 2. i am pretty sure its fast enough for most people who are on a budget and will just be happy to get internet service on their phone. Again i have used metros 3g service. While it is not blazing fast I can usually find what I am looking for on the internet within a minute or two.

So i think taking all those things into consideration, it is definitely worth saving $1400 over a two year period. I can pay for many more things with that kind of cash.LOL

I wish I could get get on Metro PCS, but on their coverage map, I'm basically in the middle of a 2-5 mile no coverage area.

I thought MetroPCS didn't have 3G when 4GLTE isn't available... Might want to think about that before buying.
