The waterproof Kyocera Hydro XTRM is now available from pre-paid carrier MetroPCS; priced at $169 lock, stock and barrel, the Android powered handset is not only waterproof, but is also shock proof and drop proof according to the carrier. With IP57 certification, the phone can last 30 minutes in 3.28 feet of water although you can't actually use the device while it is submerged...

Kyocera and rugged are oxymorons. Talk about junk phones. A rugged kyocera will probably be about as good as a non-rugged most other phones.

All I know is the reception on Kyoceras rival the reception on Motorolas and BB. For that alone...I might be getting this soon.

I had to leave Verizon for financial reasons and now I'm looking for a decent pre paid service. Its either this or get a Atrix HD or Moto X off Ebay or Dell and go with Net10 or Straight Talk.

I just looked into that, thanks. So far something called AIO by AT&T is the front runner. MetroPCS is my 2nd choice, followed by Boost.
