Actually, there was a flip phone once – the Kyocera K323, which was released in 2006, but since then, Big Red has not offered any models by the Japanese company. With no new Casio rugged devices in the foreseeable future for Verizon, a Military-spec Kyocera would not come as a suprise.

Actually there is a rugged Casio that may launch soon, I dont know when it is gonna be released but is is to be the sucessor to the Commando C771. It is the C811 Commando 2 (I am unsure that that will be the name) But it made a visit to the FCC not too long ago. Here is the link to the story: phonearena.com/news/LTE-enabled-Casio-GzOne-smartphone-for-Verizon-visits-the-FCC_id35655. If you follow the phone scoop link at the bottom of the story (Not the fcc link as it is broken) and go to the fcc link on the phone scoop page you can see pictures of the device that were just updated on the fcc website on april 1.

The Kyocera XTRM will be a pretty good 4G LTE phone for USCC. From what the picture look like.
