Kyocera Echo benchmarked

0. phoneArena posted on 24 Mar 2011, 06:29

Kyocera Echo is powered by a 1GHz QSD8650 Snapdragon chipset, the same one that is in the HTC EVO 4G, which is getting a bit tired, compared to the dual-core silicon of late. It is precisely this arrangement we wanted to test, since it seemed perfectly adequate to light up two mid-sized screens at once...

Dual-display doesn\'t mean it\'s dual-core, though. The Kyocera Echo is powered by a 1GHz QSD8650 Snapdragon chipset?
Single-core doesnt meant it should be under 900~ my milestone 2 can score up to 1300... not high, just more impressive then this... brick

the Milestone 2 comes with a 45nm chipset, and the Echo has a 65nm, that\'s why...

stock software for a new type of phone isnt going to be fully optimized. Just like the crappy galaxyS scores they mentioned. With a little bit of XDA hackery the phone will get better..

though they better have some killer apps to make peeps want to buy this phone.

I think of lot of existing apps will be able to be optimized fairly easily to take advantage of the dual screens. It's not like thousands of apps would have to be written from scratch, so I'm optimistic.

I predict sizeable price drops a month after this phone is released. It will probably get decent sales after that for those who want Android, need an upgrade, thinks the dual screen thing is cool and don't want to spend alot of dough.

I've got a bone stock Incredible which has the same chip as the Evo. I got around 850 when it was released with 2.1. When I got the 2.2 update I was getting around 1350. Pretty sad if this thing has 2.2 and is getting that score
