Two different companies have had two different results with their business of providing displays to major device manufacturers as Innolux, the company that apparently has picked up the coveted role of supplying the display for the Apple iPad mini, has added the Amazon smartphone to its list; meanwhile AUO has lost its previous role as supplier of glass to Apple's 7.9 inch slate...

I can predict that Apple has to come back to Samsung again.

Samdung steals IP. Why would Apple give Samdung more chances to steal.

AUO had to of known this was a short term deal, just about everyone who knows anything about the iPad Mini knew it was getting a retina display in the second or third iteration. Hopefully they made enough money from Apple to invest in their R&R department, but a large part of me doubts that.

Apple will need to wait a couple more years before other manufacturers can match Samsung's delivery (yield% and quantity).

I'm not sure about that, if apples leaving them you can bet they'd have their ducks in a row. LG, and Sharp are pretty capable.
