Hahahah I hope it never comes out... And ur wrong most people buy iphones because they see oother people with it same reason your buying it. Anyone who really understands the freedom of software and hardware would never buy an iphone. Everyone that buys an iphone is spporting a company who believes they have the right to restrict your capabilites for a phone you paid a few hundred dollars for. Anyone who minuses me clearly has abslutely no clue about what there buying and there just a fanboy who buys anything they think is popular.

Aside from this news, I think Windows phone 7 will be doing something similar to the iPhone now.... sadly...

the iphone is a fashion statement. it is backe dup by the successful ipod. it's already outdated, there's nothing special about it!

Yes he's buying the iPhone 4 because so many other people are already using the new iPhone already. I agree that there are people who buy the iPhone just because it's an iPhone, but there are also people who buy Android only because it's not an iPhone and because they hate how popular the device has gotten. Most Android users hate iPhone so much that they convince themselves that app store is not that great, the retina display is an unnecessary feature, iMovie is just a gimmick and not a real tool, the front facing camera is useless, multitasking is not good even though the apps that take advantage of multitasking havent even been releaseed to the public yet, the main camera is lagging behind competition because of 5 megapixels even though it takes nice pictures with 720p HD videos, etc etc etc. The iPhone 4 is great and I strongly believe that regardless of whether or not it's the best phone or not (I think it is) the majority of buyers will be happy with their decision. I just want Apple to update their freaking notification system! They should just copy Android's and call it a day. If Amdrlid can borrow accelerometer, multitouch, visual voicemail, the app store, gyroscope soon, etc then I'm sure android won't mind too much about the notification system.

The Droid line is pretty similar. Everyone loves the Droooiiid sound, the red eye, and the robotic hands. Makes them feel like their phone is so cool. Maybe that's why the Droid is a best selling Android device. Droooiidd!! FTW......I'm cool now right?!?! Droooiiiiiidd!!!!! ..... How about now?

i hate that droooooooid notification. i don't see how the iphone is the best phone when you can't even tether for free, or customize the way you want it to be! every iphone looks the same, unlike androids which everyone's looks different.

Technically, neither the Droid or the iPhone can tether for free (if you follow AT&T and Verizon's rules). Not just the notification, but also the commericals. And I'm willing to bet that most Droid users had that notification for at least a little while since they purchased it. And I hope I'm not making you angry. The Droid's cool, its just that everyone put Android on such a high pedestal that I expected to be blown away when I first started to use it almost like my primary device. But really, they're both basically at the same level. I love the notification system on Android, the upcoming flash, and I prefer the widgets and moveable backgrounds to the iphone's grid like icons. But the iphone has a better app store, universal search, the copy and paste is so much easier, the web browser is also sooo much better (especially when panning around and zooming in/out), and its a hassle to have an account thats not gmail on android. iPhone's UI is also much more cleaner and intuitive as opposed to Android's white on black. For example, when I wanted to delete my email account from the email app, I had to long press on the email account for the option to remove it to appear. On the gmail app, I had to touch the menu bar, then accounts, then touch the menu bar again and select account settings. Under manage accounts, I select the account I want to delete, and the select remove acount from the very bottom of the screen. To change the wallpaper, I can't go through sound and display settings from the menu bar, I have to hold down the home screen and select wallpaper. If people say that Android is going to kill iPhone, there better be a ton of features to back up them up. As of now, there's not.

Your comments sound very closed minded. You thinking you can speak for everyone makes you an idiot. You sir, have no clue

Bump- kjh267, That phone sells amazing but realistically it's inferior software wise plain and simple. Almost everything on an iphone can be done on Android, the same cannot be said in reverse though

Stop whining. iPhone is bomb whether it's restricted or not. I completely love my iPhone. I did an incredible amount of research and comparing before buying my iPhone 4. I was seriously considering getting an Android device just to try one out, but I passed. My sis now has a Droid (and she loves it) and I've been comparing it to my iPhone for the last few days. Android is awesome, but not all that it's cracked out to be. There's only so much customizing and rearranging widgets that you can do, the web browser makes me laugh, we still don't know why the battery does so quickly, the mp3 store is a joke, and now I can first hand say that the Android market is nothing compared to the app store. Really, the only thing that males me jealous is not all that customization open source crap, but the notification system. Android's method of notifications makes Apple's look like crap.

how did you do an incredible amount of research on a phoone that no one has done a review on? You know nothing about the phone other then what is advertised! And even if every aspect of all advertisements abouut the phone are true the phone is still already outdated and has more restrictions then any other phone including previous Iphones.

I've read enough about it. I know basically all the features it's offering. I've watched enough hands on videos. I read a lot and have seen a lot of beta iOS4, etc. I've also done a lot of comparisons with The Motorola Droid. I went to the Verizon store to check out the Droid Incredible. I've read a lot of reviews on the EVO and dropped into Best Buy to check it out but didn't have a good first impression. The day before iPhone 4 pre-orders I decided to give EVO another chance so I visited my local radio shack to give it one more try. I still wasn't impressed mainly because of the humongous screen and extra large icons. The good news about that is that my mom is considering buying the EVO now because the icons are large and the text is big enough for her bad eyes (I'm not even joking). So basically I was bored the heck out of my mind with all the same Android phones. I stayed up until 1 am pacific the next day and ordered my iPhone 4. So when I say I've done my research, I didn't mean that I watched the Apple commercial and fell on my knees praying for the 24th to come. I actually did my research. And explain why the iPhone is outdated please. I've asked so many times in the past few weeks and never got a real answer. I really really want to know.

The iphone is and will always be the "cool" device to have. Having owned all 3 iphones, i can honestly say I upgraded every year with att simply to have the latest, coolest but not the best phone on the market. This is and will always be the reason why apple can sell the amount of iphones they do every year. I finally woke up and said to hell with apple and their just do enough attitude with this particular product and have jumped ship to android/google/htc. I have no regrets and love my EVO with 4G service and the whole open google/android experience. This is what a smartphone experience is suppose to be like. I'm saving 50 bucks amonth by dumping att and apple and joining sprint and I love it. I am sure i will gt slammed for this post but its a forum and i am voicing my opinion so F'it:.................Htc + Android = FTW and apple.......

You guys are SO off base. The ONLY thing Droid does is flash! thats it. Droid market sucks(cant look at it without a damn droid phone!), games suck, interface suck. Scrolling sucks. The iphone does a MUCH better job of making the phone easy to use! Not everyone wants a free market OS on their phone. And if you do, JAILBREAK the iphone. There is much to improve on the iphone but it is still the best phone out. (assuming you dont actually make calls on it) I will say it again, the best thing is probably a droid phone with an ipad for fun.

I'm gonna start off by saying that no matter what side you are on (android, iphone, anything else) there is no best phone. Let's all face it nothing can touch the app store from apple. It's amazing, and the iphone on it's own is a great looking piece and as everyone has said is just a cool phone to own. But on the other hand the android phones have the upper hand as far as variety, you don't have to pick one damn thing, you can choose carrier, screen size, touch screen, physical keyboard, and once again mainly carrier. Android has made the smart choice by putting their devices on all networks, something that apple should seriously consider more so. Either way both phones are great, if you want something a little more simple and stylish that almost every one knows how to use go with the iphone, if you want something with a little better specs (not all but some) but more time to master go with an Android. I personally go android because i am not going to switch from verizon and that is the best choice for this carrier but i wouldn't say that it would be a super easy choice to pick between the two if i ever had the iphone on verizon.

I have a Zack Morris "brick" cell phone, it's the best! It has no interface and only weighs 40 lbs!
