Jolla shows Nokia how it's done, launches its first MeeGo phone as soon as next month

You must have heard of Jolla Mobile by now. It's a new company formed by a number of ex-Nokia employees, who have adopted the MeeGo OS that Nokia abandoned in favor of Windows Phone. The goal of Jolla is to become a successful player on the market by launching both consumer- and advanced user-centric devices based on MeeGo...

I have a hunch that Nokia is helping Jolla "under the table".

Or that's Nokia's back-up plan in case WP fails to take off or MS kicks them in their a**. Nokia taking over Jolla/ a merger seems likely in 2013/2014, if Nokia manages to get itself some profit.

I personally believe that these ppl wouldnt have proceeded to such a task (form a company and produce an actual device within 3 months) if they did not see potential to the project.
And, remember, these ppl are software engineers! And not ANY software engineers, but x-Nokia employees (which means qualified and CAPABLE software engineers).
I will be expecting something extremely refined by next month! Fingers crossed!

"shows Nokia how it's done"... well, it's great that Jolla is able to get a phone out fast (if they indeed do so), but the author should remember that it's slightly easier to launch at your own pace when you control the full stack. Apple does that, Jolla does that, so they can launch whenever they are ready to do so.
The following WP8 phone launches should however be less painful, as the OS at that point already exists, so it's just a matter of building the handsets and launching it through existing carrier relationships.

Yeah, the "anti-Nokia/Microsoft" Force is strong within some writers at Phone Arena....
I am all in on a Nokia WP8, but I am cheering for Jolla to take off. Would love to see a small company become successful, especially in such a huge, competitive ocean as mobile. MeeGo has a good following, a good start.

This stands a better chance than WP8 so far, and we dont even know what it looks like, LOL.

dont talk stupid, wp8 stands a better chance as it has HTC samsung and Nokia bringing devices out
but i hope this succeeds too and not become a niche device only few know of
