John McCain happy about automatic app updates on iOS 7

0. phoneArena 10 Jun 2013, 23:37 posted on

Last month, when Apple CEO Tim Cook was being questioned about Apple's corporate tax rate by the Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations, Senator John McCain (R-Arizona) had a question to ask the Apple executive; the former Republican Presidential candidate wanted to know, "Why the hell do I have to keep updating apps on my iPhone all the time?"...

This ain't a feature at all. Apple really needs some technical sense to define feature. Its a catch here, it might eat your data unknowingly.

Anyway, hope he enjoys it. Apple can do no wrong in this guy's eyes.

Wow. How some uncivilized people degrade others with respect to their age/appearence because they like iphone or other apple devices. If you don't like Apple, deal with it. Its their choice and its their right. But you guys have no right to degrade them.

*sigh* how much more evidence do we need that that will not happen with our current president. Both sides need a reality check.

So... should we consider this to be McCain submitting his application to Apple to work the lobbying circuit when he's out of public office???

Dear Mr Pōtâtō Head,

I hope you enjoy your new iVoiceTime™®© on iWi-Fi (since your phone won't get regular service) but, in the meantime, were you as annoyed as that useless Senator of yours' by having to manually update your iPhone 5 aka iPhone 4S plus .03 inches; it must have been REALLY difficult for the Senator (and you) to have to manually update that thing all the time? And, couldn't you do that through iTunes?

By the way, I'm sending you a small charitable contribution for you and your "FAM" because I wouldn't want them to starve after you spend $800 on that new iPhone 4S plus .03 inches; the check is in the mail.

With all my benevolence,
PAPI♥

That's a lot of words to essentially tell the guy "I don't like your choice of phone."

The iPhone 5 is a damn fine phone and I heartily supported the purchase of one in my household. It's not for me, but it's a great piece of tech with a nice design, a gorgeous screen, and it functions as it should. iOS 7 will only make it more competitive. Go ahead and piss on the smallish screen, but I for one think they nailed it compared to the 4S.

I remember it too be good but that was with iOS 4.. not sure how it is now with iOS 6.. Imo apples latest updates usually messes with performance of some of there older devices..example 3gs on iOS 6 is very bad but not sure how iOS 6 is on the 4..I think it's best you wait till the release of the iPhone 5s and get the 4s.

Sad :(
I don't have enough money to get 4s. It is still expensive in my country. Even more expensive than GS3, Note 2, Nexus 4, Optimus G.
Does i4's battery lasts one day?

In my experiences easily. Like taz said thought, that was with ios4. Every year I upgrade to the new one, so I honestly couldn't tell you how it performs with newer software...sorry dude.

My sister in law has the 4 and from what I can tell with the little use I'vehad on it with ios 6 it seems fine performance wise.. I can't really tell you how the battery is as she isn't a heavy user and honestly rarely uses other than make a few calls now and then and watch some youtube. But I still think it's a nice phone and believe it should have no problem lasting a day easily.

So true, I remember putting iOS 3.1.2 (or might've even been iOS 4) on my brother's iPhone 3G: what a DISASTER.

So, if you're planning on iPhone 4 plan on not upgrading higher than iOS 5 .... or your phone will run as fast as a contestant on "The Biggest Loser"!

iOS 6 was fine on the iPhone 4. But just like in Android land, if your phone is more than two years old, it's time for the scrap heap anyhow.
