0. phoneArena 17 Apr 2011, 15:32 posted on

Does he think that we'll just stay in this one spot and never move onto innovating other things? Of course tablets are putting newspapers out of business... I don't need to pay money to get news that i can get from a google search for free. The tablets will be out innovated as well some day with something better, cheaper, and not consisting of so many parts.

thats democrats for you. you cant move forward with life, because it might cost someone his job.. even though eventually jobs that replace them get better... better pay, conditions, ect. With this mentality, we never would have allowed the printing press! It would put thousands of town criers out of business!!! lol.

That's technology. It's not the iPad or any one thing. Going forward, more and more jobs will be eliminated because machines will basically do the work that people would have done decades ago. Car companies employ a fraction of the people they do now because machines can do most of those jobs. More and more jobs are becoming IT oriented and yesterday's laborer aren't trained for it. But it isn't Apple or any one company's fault. It's just technology.

Couldn't agree more, another example is addition of electronic cashiers on stores that need little human help, its not apple or any other company, they are doing their job. I think we may reach an era where the conventional jobs are changing. We may need to create new ways to get jobs, this is why I think computing should be as important on school as math and English because we are slowly making a digital centric world.

Also if the government wants to stop this they can settle rules, rules that may prevent the abuse of technology, but don't know how bad that could be

The newspapers could make their own iPad Apps instead of being printed on paper... :D

Yeah sure. Let's all stop using modern technology so that more jobs can be available. I also blame married couples for having children. If couples would stop having kids then there would be less competition for work. I also blame modern medicine for curing diseases. Those sick people who would have usually died would have opened a new job for an unemployed person. Modern technology is a drawback to employment. We should stop email technology as well. That way more jobs can be opened at the post office. As well as ebay and amazon. They should be stopped.

What a loser. I rather spend $30 for a digital textbook than spend $200 towards greedy publishers for a book I'll get gipped when I resell it. Lol, democrats are morons.

I hate Apple and think that its fans can be way too obsessed with its products, but even I think that this was a stupid argument.

He needs to lose his job so that someone else can take it. That way he would have helped with the unemployment situation.

I don't know whose dumber, this guy or his old man.

Keep blaming everyone, but yourself, fella.

You keep giving handouts to your constituents, that's why asses are couch-bound.

Who elects these assholes, anyhow?
