JailbreakMe 3.0 now live, setting your iPad 2 free
iPad 2 owners can now enjoy the freedom of the easiest way to jailbreak their tablet, JailbreakMe 3.0. The tool, developed by @comex, works without the need to connect your iDevice to a computer – you just navigate to www.jailbreakme.com and install everything from there. The list of supported products includes:

iPad1: 4.3 through 4.3.3
iPad2: 4.3.3
iPhone 3GS: 4.3 through 4.3.3
iPhone4: 4.3 through 4.3.3
iPhone4-CDMA: 4.2.6 through 4.2.8
iPod touch 3g: 4.3, 4.3.2, 4.3.3
iPod touch 4g: 4.3 through 4.3.3

This way of jailbreaking differs from others like redsn0w and Pwnage Tool as it doesn't use the limera1n exploit, but rather works with a userland epxloit. It's also nearly completely safe – you can however mess up your device after you get root access. Jailbreakme is easily reversible by means of an iTunes restore and if you ever wondered whether it's legal stateside, you can rest assured that it is as the Library of Congress has granted it a DMCA exemption. There is a chance that the jailbreak doesn't work on your device immediately as the website is experiencing some web-caching issues, but it should be all up and running by tomorrow, so keep on refreshing.

At last! I hope that this will become a standard in 5.x and in the future - especially useful for those who have Linux as their primary OS..
