JP Morgan: Apple to restrict sapphire glass to high-end Apple iPhone 6 models
0. phoneArena 17 Jul 2014, 17:43 posted on
Just because Apple is believed to be using sapphire glass on Apple iPhone screens this year, doesn't mean that all versions of the Apple iPhone 6 will feature the material. According to a report from JP Morgan Securities Ltd., Apple will limit the number of screens using sapphire glass, to ten million units. That figure represents less than 1% of the entire smartphone market...

How do you want to know? Every day Phone Arena posts contradicting rumors by people you get payed for putting these rumors into the world. Tomorrow we will read a story about an analyst that claims that all iPhones will carry saphire glass followed by an opposing analyst the day after that. Lets wait until Apple unveils the next gen iPhone.

"How do you want to know?" "...rumors by people you get payed (paid)"...?
First of all I don't know what you're trying to communicate to me.
And second I don't think you got my message clearly. I don't want to wait and see what Apple brings: I lost faith in them. I would much rather wait for a phone with specs that has lived up to its price for the past few years which is the Note 4.

Strike out the "you" and make "get" a "getting" :) sorry, I was obviously not paying attention to my writing. If Apple should bring a 5.5" model, GN4 will have a formidable competitor. I am pretty sure that Apple is going to make a huge leap forward this year because of quantom dot display technology.

Well I hope the 6 comes with QD displays but that's gonna make it very expensive and I don't know if that's ready for Apple's mass production. We'll see.

The note 4 hasn't been out the last few years, in fact the note 4 hasn't been out. Hasn't been released yet.

Is it that hard to understand obi wan darkkjedii??
The Note series has been "out" on the market over the last few years.
Did you know that?

We'll say that then, you jumped on Han for improper communication, then you do the same thing bro.

That's different. I wasn't being sarcastic or criticizing him for the MISTAKE in his sentence structure. I honestly couldn't understand what he was trying to tell me. But in this case you can at least guess what the Note 4 meant man.

You shouldn't have faith in Samsung. Their build quality is terrible now because they are popular.I've also heard that the iPhone 6 will have an Intel cpu so you'll be wrong. (I'm not an apple fan, I hate apple)

Samsung is manufacturing the new processor for Apple, and Qualcomm.

Specs don't mean that its better.
For an example, Qualcomm snapdragon Krait dual core processors beat Quad core Tegra series. So Just by looking at the spec sheet you can't judge a product.
Similarly the dual core Apple A7 processor with 1 GB of RAM beat Snapdragon 800 Processors with 2 GB RAM.
And iOS doesn't need that much power to run the OS unlike Android which is resource hogging.

A7 single core is slighly faster and slower in multicore perfomance. A7 gpu perfomance is also slower than S800.
So no, A7 isnt faster than S800 in total perfomance.
So, u cant judge a product by looking some misleading benchmarks on websites.
U need to see whole picture, duh.
27. nithyakr (Posts: 80; Member since: 20 Jun 2014)
Well according to anandtech and pcmag (if you say those benchmarks are misleading then I don't know what site you could trust) in almost all benchmarks Apple A7 beat Snapdragon 800.
I'm not saying that benchmarks give you a clear picture. I'm just saying that Apple A7 dual core processor with 1.3 GHz clock speed and 1 GB of RAM performs better than s800 Quad core processor with over 2GHz and 2 GB of RAM.
So Just by having more cores, higher clock speed and more RAM doesn't mean that you got a powerful phone.
I was referring to Tizen007's "iP6 will be no match to GN4 in specs." comment. Even though GN4 comes with more cores and more RAM, iPhone 6 COULD (not saying will) be more powerful since iOS is not that resource hogging like Android.

Harder to scratch, easier to break.
They've known all along how this'll work out.
It probably be best to put it in the snobbier version, make others want it even after learning, its fragile now.
This is Apple!

Apple is probably working on saphire glass for years. I am pretty sure they dealt with such issues.

So has Rolex, I bet they say, it can't be thin enough to flex for touch, and not shatter from impact.
But yeah, your right, let's see what happens as I'm just speculating.

Yup they're a bunch of jerks.
Note 4 always maintained its premium offers to the customers; and it will continue to do so.
For the people who don't like the design, well that's not what Samsung aimed for. They went for the customers who wanted truly high end specs.
Now as everybody would know, they're becoming conscious of the design they apply: It's gonna be a beast.

128GB + Sapphire Glass = Wallet instantly disappears

Another move by Apple to suck more money out of people's wallets...

Only idiots will stand in line to camp out just for a phone.
24. TheFirm (Posts: 33; Member since: 05 Jun 2014)
I agree, apple should be in business to lose money, not make money
14. iZman48 (Posts: 8; Member since: 17 Jul 2014)
Analysts say so many things its confusing. Apple will not sell a 128 GB phone with sapphire and 64 GB without.that would be dissapointing.I have not used apple products much. I have a nexus device. But it is highly unlickly they will do that.its not their style.

That's too bad,I was ready to get 3 of them when they came out. Back to the Samsung f series.
