Simple physics really, the smaller panel should always be more durable in a drop test. Also ifans should keep their ipads in a zip lock ibaggy when playing in the ibathtub.

Exactly. The N7 is hitting with half the force because it's half the weight. That alone will help it be more durable.

I also think that's the reason the Galaxy S3 seems easier to break, the big screen and the huge battery engineering like the Droid Razr and should have been shaped to either be non removable or be re-engendered in terms of design

the bigger it is, the easier it breaks on the average.

of course, the little i4s breaks when you sneeze on it, so there is always exceptions to the rule.

True and false. There is the equal and opposite reaction it takes into its body (so half the weight takes half the force back into itself - so, it's the same really). The device doesn't break because of the hit to the ground. It breaks because of the equal hit it TAKES from the ground. That's where the build grade matters. Besides, it depends on which part of the body gets hit. What is the narrowness (inverse of pressure)? How does the impact flow through the structure? Lots of variables there.

Nexus 7 orders after July 13 are not affected by that screen problem. The issue was just for the first batch.

haha look how cheap the ipad is.. even the metal is bent when it fell on its side... Sad apple.. but the reality is your products are FRAGILE...
I have dropped my Sony Xperia Arc and Samsung Galaxy note so many times from my pocket, there isn't even a scratch on the body let alone crack on screen.

They must've added the iPad to the comparison to get free press -- the models are so dissimilar that a purchaser of one wouldn't even be considering the other. Clever way to get free page-time in the blogosphere though.

Love it or hate it, the iPad is what draws eyeballs-to-ads... ;-)
