Is this the Apple iPhone 5's display assembly?

0. phoneArena 19 Aug 2012, 22:26 posted on

Pictures obtained by smartphone repair shop UBREAKiFIX.com from one of its distributors claim to show the display assembly for the upcoming Apple iPhone 5; the pictures don't really offer anything new, but a closeup does reveal serial numbers to "prove" the authenticity of the photos...

It is just soo hard to look at a slightly taller and thinner phone and get excited. Add in a UI that is so 2010 (maybe 2009?), and the 'new' iPhone is just a Yawn.

Best wishes to those who are eagerly anticipating the new iPhone. Unfortunately, you don't know what you are missing in JB (even ICS for that matter).

JB = Jelly Bean (aka Android v. 4.1)
ICS = Ice Cream Sandwich (aka Android v. 4.0)

Wow, android? R U sure, dude? I have had android phone, but to compare it with an iPhone, wait a sec:) Android is a nice OS(athough copied), but I'd take one only for a second phone, never for my main one. I use 4S and Nokia now.

What a false statement, if you have used an android phone or tablet you would know that iOS and Android have different feature sets and UI. I don't get it why an iOS fanboy would lie about this sort of thing.

Features that iOS lack;
1. Bluetooth file transfer
2. Third Party Apps Multitasking capabilities
3. UI Widgets.
4. Open App Stores vs iTune (a clear monopoly)

Copied? You are smoking crack!. And believe what Steve Jobs said. There is no basis to this. Google develops Android. It is 100% genuine using Linux as a starting point. Do what you want but speak the truth and not wild accusations.

And you did not even know what JB is. So you don't know that is is copied. Quote your source !

A lot of people critiqued the hell out of the SGIII and some people who own wish that it was built slightly better with better materials and a better design, some even saying that its a step backwards from the SGII's design. And look how well the device is doing.... From the rumored pictures of the Note 2, the designs is going to be pretty damn similar to the original Note, and the Note 2 is most likely going to be a great seller also. Why is there so much complaining about the iPhone's design? These images are AT LEAST an average design, maybe even a little above.

I'm awaiting the new iPhone, so thanks for your wishes. As long as this iPhone is not an "S" version, I think it will be a pretty solid choice for anyone out there looking for a new phone, we'll just have to see. I will be missing some cool features in JB, but there's also a lot to love about iOS too. You've made your decision to go with Android, so you should give others the space to make their own decision. I love how Android users advocate choice and deciding what you want in a phone, but then they attack users who do just that. Oh the hypocrisy!

I agree Android is the way to customize things and much more. but, when it comes to smoothness no one can compete with iPhone. Dont blindly down vote this comment

Yeah, say that to project butter...Androids are just as smoother if you use espier launcher or iLauncher, but who in their right mind would do that?

While iphone is very smooth with opening files and scrolling etc. I have been using jelly bean recently and i got to say, apple has its hands full with this android update.

As an iPhone 4 user - I've noticed a relatively high amount of lag ever since iOS 5. Even after closing all "background" apps - there is lag when going to the spotlight, for instance. Or when installing an app and scolling the home screen. Such things didn't exist in iOS 4.x

I noticed that in my friend's half-a-year old iPhone 4 and 4Ss too. Playing games like Infinity Blade lags like hell, and on some of the worst iPhones, even scrolling Facebook lags.

Why wouldn't it be, the OS is half-Baked, doesn't run any apps at the back ground, the phone was made to launch just apps.....

I read the comment. i dont blindly down voted this! what u said is utter crap. S3 and S2 are soooo smooth.. and with project butter for jelly bean, android phones in the future will be as smooth as the iPhone- or even more smoother. :)

Ok, that's just what the Galaxy SII LTE is to the Galaxy SII, larger screen with added LTE & NFC (That is if they even put LTE in). Come on, I know Apple fans always have low expectations when it comes to their products so they don't seem disappointed when the product is underwhelming , but this is just sad & pathetic. I still wonder how a company who releases minor updates as major product still have a running in the current market, idiots who still buy their crap is my guess.

The downside with this is not that its a bigger screen, the idea of stretching it and having it all long and narrow and just... weird looking.

I think it is from the expectation of perfect. Since they already know every versions are gonna look same there's a perfectionist mentality like "next version is going to be perfect"

Ahh, Apple once again working their iMagic -- selling incrementally updated products as "revolutionary" innovations.

Almost like the Call of Duty in the smartphone/tablet industry.
