Is this Sony Ericsson's first Android device?
Just in time for the July 4th fireworks comes a report of two new sizzling hot Sony Ericsson devices. The joint venture appears ready to present their first Android handset and will do it under the Xperia brand. Nicknamed "Rachael", this girl will have some power under the hood with a Qualcomm 1GHz Snapdragon processor. The phone will also come equipped with an 8MP camera, a 3.5mm audio jack, 7.2Mbps HSDPA and support 3D graphics. No word whether this Xperia model will have a panel interface like the first Windows Mobile model. Pricing and availability also is unknown at the present.

If you can stop drooling for a minute, the second new Sony Ericsson device is named Kiki and it features a unique glass display that allows you to visualize the screen from the back or the front of the unit. Not much else is known about this model except for the two way screen and the different look of the device when compared to more traditional handsets. Is a two way screen a feature that you would find useful?

My first thought upon seeing that Kiki mock-up is "WTF is that!?" That is one bizarre and off-putting concept. An Xperia Android sounds sexy. Too bad T-Mobile won't likely see it.

It reminds me of the w350i. The front part flips down to reveal the keypad. That wouldn't really work with a phone viewable from both sides though.

is it just me or the does the two way screen phone make no sense? i mean, if its visible from both sides, wouldnt that make one side backwards? or is it gonna show it in two directions or what? and then whats gonna happen with the keyboard? cuz if its only properly viewable from one direction then the keyboard would obviously have to be on that side and that would completely defeat the purpose of being able to see the screen from both sides. on the other hand, if it is properly viewable from both sides, like meanin one side isnt backwards, then maybe have a keyboard on both sides? like that one phone sprint used to have? very confusing =/
