Is that Steve Jobs with Angel wings, promoting an Android tablet in Taiwan?

An Asian gentleman who looks nothing like Steve Jobs, puts on the iconic turtleneck, jeans, and struts on stage in an attempt to portray the late co-founder of Apple; the ad is for an Android tablet in Taiwan called the "Action Pad"...

This is more proof that eViL never dies and Steve Jobs is alive and languishing the billions of dollars in profits from those China sweatshops. Time to go buy stock in Action Electronics.

C'mon, don't act like apple is the only or even the biggest company involved in questionable Chinese labor. How many suppliers of android products do you think profit from the same thing. Even some Chinese companies are guilty.

They are the biggest because in term of profit they are the biggest

12. clevername posted on 02 Feb 2012, 03:30 1

Biggest in terms of profit isn't the Stat that human rights groups are watching. They pay attention to biggest in terms of work force. Because they care how many people are being exploited not how my money is made per exploited person. So in terms that matter to the humanity of it, the only terms that make laborious issues relevant, they aren't the biggest. Hell, its not even apple but their suppliers.

Value of a company make a big different. Apple has a lot more pull then a company like HTC in term of how foxconn does business. If apple told foxconn to change guess what they will because of the pure volume of business they do with them. And guess what? That is due to there value as a company.

I see your point but a company's profitability does not correlate with the level of controversy derived from unfair labor in China or other countries. The problem people have is the unfair treatment of these workers. Apple may be the largest company by market cap to be involved but instead of going after companies trying to get the best deal people aren't trying hard enough to bring attention to the government that allows it to happen. The Chinese manufacturers are the ones treating employees badly. Apple and other companies just profit from it. Still not morally acceptable but they aren't pulling the trigger, they're just looking away as it happens. And because of laws in those nations, these practices aren't going to stop even if large companies stop employing them. This was the point I was trying to get across. It had nothing to do with profitability or how much money a company has.

Better invest that in Samsung - Apple's most hated rival

So if next time there's someone acts as your dead mother, who died due to a horrible cancer to promote stuff, I guess it's alright then.
