so all the jumping around Steve did denying, then gesturing a kind hand with free bumpers to the preliminary users...... he is going to bend them all over the stove while offering "improved" i4's to buyers after Sept 30th? is that what we are supposed to read from this artiocle which is slightly double-talking jive? Well, if that is the case, all the the original i4 buyers should be PIIIISED. Jobs didnt do the recall that was URGERD by the industrry, comunity and fans, but swept them away with bumpers to sell revamped ones two months later. Talk about being a two-faced sun-uv-a bitch to the die-hards that rushed the picket lines for the first phones. APPLE is by far the Biggest Dissappointment for 2010. Shafting customers, denying issues, falsifying information, substandard designs, incredible company security flaws, shifty employees, and managed by a self-centered short sighted ego maniac. Wireless Mags and reports world wide should demonstrate this historic corporate flaw for Fails of 2010. Mean while, HTC, Motorola and Samsung have done some phenominal things contributing to the industry, revitalizing designs and bringing the indutry a future with hope, Rather than being tied to four year old success. Jobs, you owe EVERYONE an APPSology. free.

I think that no-one can expect any company to be 100% fair and square with it's customers. I recall many many other companies doing much worse deeds than released an imperfect product to the market, and denying it's technical problems for a couple of months.. Apple is not your magic fairy, and Steve Jobs is not your Jesus Christ. They are all people. And people tend to make mistakes. Released the i4 with the antenna problem was a mistake. Not admitting it was (arguably) also a mistake. Let's hope they improve in the future.

I understand your frustration...but your post makes Apple sound like they are BP. I mean, BP not only lied about the severity of the problem, but then tried to fake photos and use the government to do as little as possible to reimburse people whose lives were actually effected by this. Apple has a bit more credibility than that. What I think is funny is that this is Apple's first real mishap and everyone is ready to bite their heads off for it. It was literally two weeks before Apple held their press conference about the iPhone 4 and offered a fix for folks who already purchased their iPhone and even gave folks an opportunity to return it. But you can't be mad at Apple for changing the design so that this wouldn't continue. With folks around here, it's damned if you do, damned if you don't. Apple could continue to have the iPhone 4 built the same way for the rest of the year and you would accuse them of not fixing the problem. They are working on fixing the problem and you're still saying they are the worse company in the world for this one thing gone wrong. If you were in charge of Apple, what would you have done? Were you this pissed when the Palm Treo on Verizon started erasing everything in people's phones a few years back? What about the countless crappy HTC Windows Mobile phones that were released? Hell, one thing I'm surprised hasn't been reported or talked about is how Google and Verizon are trying to limit what sites you can go to when surfing the web on your mobile phone. They think Net Neutrality is fine for your PC, but your cell phone is a different story. Jobs is actually fighting against that idea and it's been one of the biggest reasons he has clashed with AT&T in the past three years. But if you want to be pissed because of the iPhone's first real flaw, then by all means...be pissed.

They made a temporary solution for people to keep their iphones till their return policy expires. And new designs for new customers who fear the lemon iphone.
