Is a 6.1-inch Windows Phone 8 handset by Huawei to be announced at MWC?

Huawei might be working on another 6.1-inch beast of a smartphone quite similar to the recently-unveiled Ascend Mate. And by "similar" we mean that this yet-to-be-announced model will have the same unwieldy form factor. However, Windows Phone 8 is what will run on it, if rumors are to be believed...

Possibly, but I'm waiting to see of Microsoft will come to fruition with my hypothesis....

Not quite, just a slight boost in the resolution WP8 supports...from 768 x 1280 to 768 x 1366.....it will allow phones to have up to 5 inch screens while retaining the 300 PPI+. But it's just me. For me though, 5 inches is as big as I'll go. I seriously had my doubts about the HTC Droid DNA till I used it....and it was a pleasant surprise....And as a WP8 fan I think that a HTC super phone with a 5 inch screen, having the resolution of 768 x 1366, at a ppi of 313 would just be awesome.....But they'd IMHO have to put the best camera on their cell phone's to date.....JS....

yeah..hate those limits... android now has 1080p HD screen...even though 720p is still kinda HD but it will be outdated!! microsoft should support HD screen...and lessen the restriction on manufacturers! allow them to choose varity of screen size just like android!

WP8 does support it, microsoft just has to "turn the switch on" in the code.

Windows Phone 8 is a great operating system, but it's biggest problem is definitely the restrictions OEMs have one it. If it is going to be like this then why doesn't Microsoft release Windows Phone 8 under uni-branded monikers such as "surface phone"? It is a dumb marketing strategy at this point. Microsoft should allow for at least 8 core support (Can anyone say extremely future proof, even if WP8 doesn't need it), displays up to 1080p, better landscape support, more apps, and most importantly, OEM breakaway differentiation....
At this point, WP8 won't gain the traction android will, and it hurts to say. To be honest, the people I surveyed for my SS fair project said that either WP8 is aesthetically unpleasing or just doesn't have that pop that android or IOs has.
Although, those are opinions of random people, they are opinions Microsoft needs to take seriously, and needs to think outside the box with....The best way to do so is just to lessen the reins on OEMs when it comes to WP8....IMHO

sorry..but a phone's screen above 5 inches is an unpractical gimmick...try to handle it with one hand

At 6.1 inches, It doesn't need WP8...instead W8RT is better option.

Folks when smart phones get above 5 inches you use a blue headset to send and receive
Phone calls on them and you wear a blazer jacket or big pocket vest or a phone case that attaches to your belt. you have dress right to use them.
