Is Verizon about to shave $100 off the DROID RAZR MAXX?
If you have been pondering the purchase of a Motorola DROID RAZR MAXX, then this should get your attention.

A recent leaked advertisement image from a Verizon store shows that they will be shaving $100 off the price. This would lower the current $299.99 contract price of the DROID RAZR MAXX down to $199.99, thus making it only $100 more than the standard DROID RAZR. Keep in mind the MAXX has the larger 3300mAh battery that will allow the device to go longer without a charge.

We'll keep a look-out, as no one knows yet when this $100 discount will start, but it may coincide around the launch of the HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE, which will be the newest smartphone at the $299 price tier.

Straight from sources at htc, the Incredible 4G WILL NOT be $299. Obviously I cannot guarantee this because I do not work for htc, but I have no reason to not trust my source on this. That said, this is going to be a really really good phone. I've had my hands on it and for someone with an upgrade who doesn't care about having a huge screen, this phone will rock.

I assure you that is not the reason. They have special promos all of the time. It's also been out for a while in the tech world. Why wouldn't it get a price cut? Rumors are of a blue normal Razr too, so that might have something to do with it too.

Im hoping more Motorola Phones come with this new type of battery. If are planing to release a new Photon on Sprint I would buy it out of contract if it has this 3300mah battery.

Existing customers already get $50 off when upgrading but I thought that would transition with the Galaxy Nexus when it hit $200. Sadly, it did not otherwise I would have already upgraded my phone.

Nonetheless for having the best battery life out of any LTE phone this seems like a steal for $200.

Not all existing customers get $50 off....some get $30, some get nothing...there are even a few out there that can still get $100. It's called a New Every 2 discount and is usually reserved for the primary line holder on the account. Some older accounts have multiple "primary" line holders though through account mergers, old plans, etc...The current NE2 discount will be the last that you get though as VZW is phasing out this type of upgrade.

The New Every 2 hasn't been around for years. As a PLH, the only 'deal' I get is getting a new phone at the price that a new VZW customer would get the equipment at.

I miss applying the 100 beans towards a new phone. Right around the droid blowup..vzw changed that to 50, down to 30 and now to nothing.

The NE2 is still in existence, just no new ones are being issued. You'd be surprised how many people still have them on their accounts. Only got phased out about 18 months ago, along with "Annual" upgrades. All VZW customers now get an upgrade at 20 months, unless of course VZW is willing to give you an "early" upgrade to get the sale (along with the early upgrade fee of course lol).

Really. I have been a VZW customer since 2003 and my last upgrade I didn't even have a NE2. No one has them on their accounts b/c they do not exist. Only that does exist now is no matter if you go from basic to smart, smart to basic or basic to basic, YOU WILL PAY 30.00 (like an activation fee) when you get a new piece of equipment.

SO in all, you loose the NE2 and every 2 you will pay 30.00 for every line, when you upgrade ur equipment.

Maybe you should listen to someone that actually WORKS for VZW Zorin??? NE2's definitely DO still exist...I do them every single day of my life lol. No NEW ones are being given out...maybe you're just confused :) They are going the way of the old VZW "Annual" upgrade and the dinosaur...

And yes, every upgrade on a phone (with the exception of Small Business accounts) comes with a $30 "administrative fee" now (including employees of VZW). Trust me, we hate that fact as much as you do... VZW didn't even take the smart route and say it was to help pay for 4G improvements, they just basically flat out said, everyone else is doing it so we're going to do it too.

the NE2 use to give you 100 towards a new device (primary account holder only). Since you do them everyday, what are giving the customer exactly. And please, don't tell me the cost of the phone at a retail price point...NE2 use to give you, I.E. - Droid Razr Maxx at 199.00 + 100 dollars off.

Concept hasn't changed....if you have an NE2 upgrade then you get $30 or $50 off of the upgrade cost of a new phone, ie a RAZR MAXX at $199.99 - $50.00. Incidentally, VZW's policy on NE2's now stipulates that the maximum discount you can receive off of an NE2 is $50, even if you have a $100 credit. A lot of independent dealers will still give you the full $100, but if you go into a corporate store or do it online good luck with that lol. Of course that doesn't mean you can't raise hell and try and get it anyway...you never know :)

I spoke with someone who has an independent store and he didn't even tell me about the 30, not 50 NE2. Sucks, right? VZW charges 30 buck type activation fee and hides that NE2 from you.

Good to know about raising hell, I F*%Kin will!

Yeah I have no idea what's going on with my account but it's not the NE2. I'm eligible for that during August. Right now I can get an instant $50 off selected phones.

Plus I've been eligible way before the 20 months they allow you for an upgrade. I think it's primarily because they want everyone to get on the LTE networks pronto but still am grateful.

Still, I am considering either this phone or a Droid Incredible 4G for my next upgrade.

they're allowing early upgrades and a $100 discount for lines without a 4G smartphone last time i checked. that might have ended recently though. o:

only if you upgrade and we're still not sure if that is for 3G customers or if that includes current users of 4G service.

Thats about right...all the high end Droids start off at 299 when first released on VW..THEN a month or so later the price drop comes...CHARGE..BIONIC..REZOUND..NEXUS..RAZR1..RAZR MAXX.and when released on all other carriers...199 or less whicb leaves me to believe that VW will stick it to u any way they can....just domt go out and have to be the first to have and you will launch a steal...the rezound has been as low as 49 on Vw

Nope.... you only have 14 days (not 30) to return any device. You can get the cheaper by returning the original phone and purchasing it again at the cheaper price.

It's called price protection policy. No need to return your old phone and buy it again. Customer service can adjust your account if you purchased directly from Verizon Wireless. It used to be 30 days but not sure if they changed it to 14 days. I would call customer service at 800-922-0204 or *611 from your Verizon phone just to make sure.

You'd be amazed at how much Cust Serv will do for you if you just push them! It's because they KNOW they are the shadiest group ever! Gives everyone else in Verizon a bad name. They do things that indirect stores and even corporate stores literally aren't able to do in the system. I can't count the number of times a customer has been in the store to get an upgrade but had to handle some business with customer service first. They ALWAYS try to get the customer on the phone and if you don't watch your back are trying to steal the sale right from under your nose!!! Worst part is they will do anything and everything to steal the sale from you!

Hello guys,
What about the people that bought the droid razr xt910? do you think that Motorola is going to provide the 3300mah battery kit for them (with the back door).

Does anyone seriously think that this will make a difference? I mean when the Galaxy 3 comes out, the Maxx will still go strong but not as strong. So who cares. If your going to get this phone when the S3 is coming out, well, apparently you don't keep up with current events.

the Razr MAXX HD will be the answer to the Galaxy S III and this might very well be an indication of it's imminent launch.

Actually, I would trust a Samsung product over a Motorola product. Is the Razr Maxx HD the Droid fighter or is that something else?

In my past experiences with Motorola phones in the past 5 years or so, they broke down on me rather quickly and/or I've heard other people talk about their phones and they say almost the same thing. One example would be the Droid X had a low speaker volume and froze constantly. I thought the Razr Maxx HD was a China product only exclusive to that market.
Remember that report on here about a week or two ago concerning an HTC rival to the Galaxy Note? If HTC wants to get back into the game, I think they should concentrate on that concept and make it a reality. That would be awesome! I really don't want to go over to "The dark Side" over a phone, you know what I mean? I hope we get an update or something soon. I went to change.org and signed a petition that Verizon customers want the Note. We'll see what happens.
