0. phoneArena posted on 01 Mar 2013, 06:50

At MWC 2013, we had the chance to sit down for a one-on-one interview with HTC's Assistant Vice President of User Experience, Drew Bamford. Mr. Bamford was kind enough to tell us some intriguing facts about HTC's latest software, the Sense 5 user interface, that's going to debut on the upcoming flagship, the HTC One...

I wish the avp could have answered straight when ray asked the question if older devices like my one x will get the full sense 5 experience. I really want that HTC zoe, well I guess only time will tell whether I'm getting that feature on my phone or not

Well, they are promising to bring certain key features to the One X and some other smartphones, but we don't know yet if the Zoe will be among them.

Zoe is great. I have One X and I'm waiting...I don't see hardware limitations wit Zoe or Blink feed...but Sense TV would be impossible to port, One X does not have IR port....so I guess he's speaking about that kind of limitations...

btw, at the last part drew said only some of the features of the new OS might be in the update, so not all the features will be on the old phones?...

As HTC stated... Sense 5 will be ported to older models: Butterfly, DNA, One X+, One X and One S. All but the hardware required features will be ported.

9. rodkurt posted on 01 Mar 2013, 08:18

will they include xl, sv, and other variants?

Thanx for all the info! Hope the purists are happy now BlinkFeed doesn't have to be your homescreen. Wish the interviewer had a little more life to him but the info was there that's what counts.

WOW!!! That's the one word that comes to your mind when you look at this user interface.. I have been a fan of HTC from a very long time and have had only HTC Phones since the Windows Mobile days..

This UI is a mixture of Windows Phone UI, iOs UI and Android.. it basically has all with a few changes here n there.. so the customers can have the option that they love.. this is amazing.. I had purchased a One X recently after being unable to get the GN4... and was thinking of it as a compromise.. so ordered the GN4 as well.. I will recieve it tomorrow (Im in India and a friend is getting it from the US, he lands tomorrow).. but after this I think that im gonna stick with the One x and sell the GN4.. unless i see some thread on xda stating that they are trying to port it to the GN4 as well..

Way to go HTC.. now the expectations for the GS4 are sky high.. they might trump the One in terms of hardware.. but lets see what they bring about in the software department..
