Intel doubled down on the Windows 8 news, demonstrating its Clover Trail reference platform for tablets, saying that the Atom processor inside will be bringing 10-hour battery life, which is very comparable to ARM-based slates. The advantage is that you get the full Windows 8 experience, with backwards compatibility with all programs ever written for Windows...

Speak your mind Intel cause its a few like you who tell it as it is.
But now they're going back on their words...which is just business pressure and drive showing. Don't let money cloud your judgement. When you release a device make sure its awesome software-wise and hardware-wise.
Also MS get oyur act together! I like you but in this fast paced world Windows has to evolve or else you will be seeing the door!
All in all I hope Windows 8 makes it big. Its always good to have options.

I am sure the pricing will change but this is compelling. The windows 8 hybrids are going to do some serious battle this fall. Great time to be a consumer.

folks I think that windows 8 by nature is a Hybrid operating system because a person using it operates one of it's two screens which are the Windows Modern UI start screen which has special Modern UI tiles that open up applications and give you updating info within some Microsoft Modern UI tiles and the other screen a person Operates in windows 8 is the good old windows desktop which a person will use to run programs written to run on Windows 7 and older windows operating system. windows 8 computers us two types of Programs which are the Modern UI start screen programs which are generally full screen Apps best for touch monitor screen and the good old Microsoft desktop programs of OLd. it takes time for this to sink in a person's mind but after awhile you don't care you adjust to it

I still fell that windows 8 should have been designed to boot directly to the Microsoft "Modern UI " start screen when it detects your computer is hooked up to a
touch screen monitor or Windows 8 will boot directly into the windows 8 desktop screen when windows 8 detects your computer is hooked to a non touch screen monitor like most People have this would save Microsoft a lot headaches user complaints and criticism.
