Instagram hits 90 million users with 40 million pictures a day

Social picture-sharing site Instagram has announced that it now has 90 million users, the first count that has been released by Instagram since the site was acquired by Facebook, and the site now adds an incredible 40 million pictures per day while 8,500 likes and 1,000 comments are posted each second; this contradicts a report published in the New York Post last month that said membership was only 12.5 million...

I'm one of those 90 million that has an account that I don't use anymore. I realize that the whole filter thing you can throw on a picture is cool, but at the same time i think it's popular mostly because of its easiness to share to facebook/twitter. All you ahd to do was snap the picture add your favorite filter and hit done and it would send.... I then found out I can just hit share, then faceboook/twitter on my phone without having to use instagram and its even faster.

Instagram does have the ahhh effect though
