In Europe, the Lenovo Phab 2 Pro is now available
The VR/AR based Lenovo Phab 2 Pro is now available in Europe, priced at the equivalent of $517 USD. Loaded up with various cameras and sensors, the device can work with certain apps to map a room and rearrange furniture, play games and more using VR and AR technology. While some of the apps for the handset are for the game player, others show more practical uses for the features that the phone offers.

The name of the device should give it away; this is first and foremost a phablet. A massive 6.4-inch LCD screen carries a resolution of 1440 x 2560. The Snapdragon 652 chipset provides enough processing power thanks to the octa-core 1.8GHz CPU and the Adreno 510 GPU. 4GB of RAM is inside along with 64GB of native storage. A 128GB capacity microSD slot is available for those seeking additional storage.

A 16MP rear-facing camera offers compatibility with Google's Project Tango, and comes with PDAF autofocus. Two other cameras on the back allow the handset to take 3D images. An 8MP snapper is found on front and a 4050mAh battery keeps the lights on. A Type-C USB Port is on board, as is a fingerprint scanner. The color options are Gunmetal Gray and Champagne Gold.

The Lenovo Phab 2 Pro launched in the U.S. on November 1st, priced at $499.99. As innovative as the device is, it really will be up to developers to see how far they can take the handset. Currently, there are more than 35 apps in the Google Play Store that will work with the Project Tango camera technology.
