The Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 leaked out a few days ago and it didn’t take long for Samsung’s JK Shin to officially confirm it…

They should've opted for the same design with the Note 10. The GS3 and Note2 design has watered down to low-end Sammy phones. This only made the Galaxy Note 8 look cheap. No thanks. And seriously, another Samsung tablet?

UGLY AS HELL! Oh come on samsung, you can do better than this! GNote 10.1 didn't have a front button, why put one on Gnote 8!

It's a fake. Why would a tablet have an ear speaker when it can't make calls? Also, Samsung never puts physical buttons in front of the screen. It's just a giant S3 mockup.

It looks like you have no clue of Samsung's Galaxy Tabs. The Galaxy Tab 7.7 had an ear speaker, as well as the Tab 7.0 Plus and the Tab 2 7.0! And actually all 3G enabled Galaxy Tabs can make phone calls! Next time do some research before you post such stuff...

US variants of those with carrier logos didn't come with ear pieces.

Do your research, or don't post please.

Maybe because Samsung's mini tablets were all call capable including OG Gtab, galaxy tab 7.7, etc.
Voice feature was removed when it arrived here in the states due to carrier demands

What a elegant but ugly face....

if that is real then..that is just wrong.by which i mean the physical keys.and that seriously looks like samsung flattened one of their s3's with a damn roller.they make amazing products but who the hell would want physical keys on a 8 inch tab? yeah sure you get more screen estate but the argument of that isn't even relevant over here (atleast for me) cause the screen is big enough anyways! hopefully the final product would be a little more..tablet-ish.and not just a huge s3 :/

Samsung needs to change their designing team, that tablet looks ugly
12. darkkjedii (Posts: 10053; Member since: 05 Feb 2011)
Sammy making their tablets look like their smartphones. Hmmmmmmm... Now where have I seen that before?
16. XPERIA-KNIGHT (Posts: 2384; Member since: 08 Aug 2012)
so if this "tablet" (note 8.0) is has the "note" name in it and their phone, the note 2, is also given the note name.....what makes you samsung fans believe the note 2 isnt a "mini tablet" just with a phone system built into it??
smh wake up people

This called unique, neither a phone nor a tablet, and it has a revolutionary s pen like no others, jealous of not having stylus? Here's a tissue for you :)
23. XPERIA-KNIGHT (Posts: 2384; Member since: 08 Aug 2012)
lol the stylus only confirms it even more that it is intended to be more of a tablet than anything...........lol btw i like how you used the word "revolutionary" to mock samsung and how they always wanna be like apple lol good one :)
25. wendygarett (unregistered)
Thanks to my revolutionary stylus, I have drawn a green thumb just for you without clicking the button :)

And that's exactly why people are calling them "phablets" and not "smarlphones"
30. XPERIA-KNIGHT (Posts: 2384; Member since: 08 Aug 2012)
yea but just because it happens to have phone system built into gives it the right to be called a phone?
heres a good way to look at it ......if you enable your ipod to make calls through wifi, could you then go on ebay and list it as a "iphone" ? i dont think so
The note 2 is 5.5 inches and tablets are being made at 7 inches these days, i dont think thats that much of a difference and it deserves to be looked more at like a mini tablet that just so happens to make calls when you need it too.
If thats not enough then take a look at these 6 inch phones about to come out........hopefully these will shed some light on what im talking about because the line has been crossed quite a while back....

That's taking it a bit out of context, because the iPod Touch is a completely different category from the iPhone (MP3 and media device vs smartphone), where as the Note line is just a big Galaxy S with additional software + a stylus, whereas the iPod Touch is an iPhone minus a few specs and a cellular radio (which makes things a phone in the first place). So the Galaxy S and Note lines are more closely related than the iPhone and iPod Touch lines. Then there's the fact that the Note II being a phone is an officially advertised and fully functional feature, and an iPod Touch making calls is kinda weird and only works on Wifi, all while not being supported by Apple directly.
If you compare the Note II to the Nexus 7, they are WORLDS apart in terms of size. That's like saying there's not a big difference between the iPhone 4S and the Droid DNA, it's wrong.
I will admit, 6 inches is too big to be commercially used as a phone (without a separate accessory), but Samsung did a relatively good job at keeping the Note II pocket friendly and manageable, and the sales show; 5.5" with minimal bezel is still manageable to a significant part of the market.

A tablet with telephone / contacts / messages?
Telephone written with two "é"?!?

I hope sgn8.0 will have the similar speakers like his big brother sgn 10.1. As a owner of this most productive tablet I would like to tell that it has very good speakers. They are in front panel. Because of that the music virtually penetrates the space.

Everything is good but the dammed buttons, get rid of them Sammy... And I mean now! But the stylus is something I'm looking forward to

The best software features but with this ugly design...I cannot buy it.
Nexus 7 still the best for its price, specs, latest updates and the fluidity of the launcher.

The design on this isn't too bad but to me it looks more like a supersized phone than a tablet.
