Tiles ui killed windows 8. So your argument is invalid. Atleast icons are colorful and functional than ugly useless tiles.

You forgot imo..
don't be upset that you bought a mediocre nexus and want to justify your purchase now.

It's not the Background wallpaper I expected to see, but it's still pretty nice.
I still really want the ability to set background wallpaper though.

Looks very nice. WP is getting better and better every day. Hope HTC does something great with the new One, otherwise I'll be really tempted to make a switch to the Windows world :) I'd like to see a file manager on WP.

I like but I hope we can have the option to use the same color. Tiles on a different background, no transparent. It's nice but it will get old fast.

This needs to be an option for the user, it looks good but this should not be the default interface, the current user interface makes more sense.

As long as the background is not busy, it will look nice on the tiles.

WOT? I expected background wallpaper like Windows 8 / 8.1
IMO, not very appealing. But better than nothing, I guess.

That just looks like the android launcher, Launcher 8.

This looks way better than before but still kind a ugly. I can't believe it has taken 3 years to come to this... This is why WP is so bad. Even simple updates takes years to come. And this is why iphone and android phones will increase in sales. while WP will soon be losing.

You mean like IOS that took until 7 to make changes? Or like my space that was the same from 4.0 to 4.4?
46. Leonis (Posts: 334; Member since: 08 Jan 2014)
Yeah but IOS was way better than this sh*t thats the difference. They also did change small things like this from every ios. Not every change has to be major like ios 7. Please look at ios 1 and compare ios 6. BIG DIFFERENCE. This is a very small thing and they could have change it long before. IOS is actually very popular and many people like it. You don't do change just for the sake of it, something people like you don't understand. Many many people have demanded more small changes like this for WP yet nothing happaned and now they have to wait even a few more weeks or months just for things like this.

I had to laugh at the crap that you say...
OH MY!! They have to wait a few months? What "you" people don't understand is that WP users are perfectly happy with the OS.. Its you fandroids that want change in WP.. You can have your " me too" devices and I'll have my better OS.
52. Leonis (Posts: 334; Member since: 08 Jan 2014)
You are talking for 3% of the OS marketshare here. SOOOOOOOOOO HAPPY. I am talking for 90+% of the people. Thats what you don't understand. If they change the things to the better then what do you think will happen? They start complaining? Just think for once before you comment again please. WP is missing a lot of the simple stuff like this to make the OS a better OS. I told you to compare IOS 1 to IOS 6... the difference will be like night and day even though it looks the same. WP users are NOT perfectly happy with the OS like you say. i personally know a few people who had WP before and not a single one was happy and stayed with WP. That tells you a lot of the perfectly happy WP users. Like in the comments even WP users applaud these kind of small changes but makes a big difference in UI.

Leonis and I know the same for droid people. I help them every day with their "shxxxy phones" as they so eloquently bash the carrier for providing them laggy phones.
How android 4.3, for 3 months now, say it 3 months now has ruined calling out on their device. It is such a huge problem we no longer exchange devices for not being able to dial under warranty. Samsung nor Droid have a fix yet. You call win os slow to update...how long it take for 4.0 to 4.4? say it with me 2 years...and 2 years for droid to get from 2.0 to 4.0. 4 years to get from 2.0 to 4.4. It has take 4 years to get from win7 to win8.1. Sound like both OS are on the same path.
78. Leonis (Posts: 334; Member since: 08 Jan 2014)
Its not about the updates only. They could have done this looong before. android updates are a lot faster than WP for sure. You look at the numbers only and make it equal. It is not because android get 2.0-2.1-2.3 and so on until 3. How the hell you think 7 to 8.1 is acceptable and then just include things like this is wrong. small things like these could come within 6 months and make people happy. instead they wait 1 whole year for yearly big updates and its not even that huge and different.

Oh i see perfectly happy or perfectly regretting the buy and compromising for beloved nokia.

Dont tell me the ui hasnt changed from ics. The notification drawer is revamped. Folders got a new style. Holo got slight refining. But nothing to argue. Because those upgrades were way better than nothing for last two years but firmware updates and thats a bad thing for a young OS.

Windows phone is the sweet sport of android and ios. When it fully matures I find myself owning a windows phone. I find live styles attractive plus am tired of always messing with my android phones. Maybe I just need both. Android and windows phone together.

I'm sure your start screen is way more boring... Static icons?
59. jellmoo (Posts: 704; Member since: 31 Oct 2011)
Gotta be honest, I really like the way that looks. I've always like the tiled approach, but the solid colour method never quite jived.
Despite the fact that I still think it's too big, if I could figure out how to get an LTE enabled Lumia 1520 in Canada, I might just grab it.
