Just a few days ago, Huawei reaffirmed its commitment to the Windows Phone ecosystem. Companies have been feeling the need to do this because of Microsoft's decision to purchase Nokia, which already controls about 80 to 90% of Windows Phone sales. However, at the time we didn't really get any information about any devices that Huawei was working on...

They have almost no other competition in this field besides Nokia and occasIonally Samsung. If they're not going to put out a blockbuster device that challenges the Lumia series in some degree, I don't see why they're wasting R & D funds to build these devises.
It needs to stand out somehow. Whether it be battery, camera, software or other hardware distinguishes for it to be relevant.
