ULTIMATE SUPER PHONE......I'll find the value of pi (22/7)...

62. raunak posted on 19 Sep 2012, 03:16

pi isnt actually 22/7 you know...

69. Hlorri posted on 21 Sep 2012, 17:36

In Kansas it is! The state legislature declared π to be precisely 22/7.

Or was it Oklahoma? Nebraska? Something like that.

In other news, several states declare war on evolution, and decided to outlaw gravity and dihydroxide.

The hardware in today's flagship phones have already surpassed the software in terms of what's required to operate the software to the fullest. Now it's all about internet speed, networking speed, screen size, and battery life (with a ton of silly fluff features sprinkled on).

What would I do with a 5" phone with super fast performance and a battery that lasts longer than 48 hours with lots of talking, web surfing, games, and video? I'd wake up, because that's just a dream.

65. Mittal posted on 19 Sep 2012, 13:35

well im sure in time, with more power we will have (more responsibilities?) more applications of a mobile device which might need that increased power.
Soooo... actually that is not a very appropriate question as we dont know what possibilities it will offer at that time.....

First of all, add Sony's Xperia T/V and Nokia Lumia 920 to the list and then I'll tell what I'll do.

13. ilia1986 posted on 18 Sep 2012, 08:57 14

It's not about power or specs or screen size or even OS. It's about usefulness. For all the billion advances made in smartphones, they still cannot totally replace even a 200$ cheapish netbook!

We need to figure out how to improve smartphones in terms of productivity first and foremost. The goal is to have a smartphone which is as comfortable to use as a PC. That includes editing complex tables in excel, writing a 300 page word document, designing a complex model in autocad or maya, etc etc.

Sure, an insanely great CPU, gigantic screen size, billion megapixel camera is all good, but it doesn't really improve productivity too much.

21. Droid_X_Doug posted on 18 Sep 2012, 09:17 3 5

Smartphones are getting close to displacing netbooks. A bit larger screen size, a little more capable browser functionality combined with more HTML5 content, more horsepower from the chipset, camera sensor that rivals the PureView 808, plus let's not forget HD calling ability, but in a thinner package, and LTE networks with a larger footprint (and larger data buckets before throttling occurs). That is my concept of the ultimate smartphone.

We might actually see something like that in the not-too-distant future.

What would I do with it? As others have posted, I would do pretty much whati am presently doing with my GS III today, just maybe more so (let go of my notebook).

26. buccob posted on 18 Sep 2012, 10:46 3

I actually agree with you... I was eagerly waiting for a broader version of the PadFone which would have replace 90% of my Notebook usage... but sadly the limited band frequency and lack of polished software pointed me into the Galaxy S3 direction...

While I love the S3, I have to say that I still rely much on my laptop and even though the screen is gorgeous and big, is still less ideal for office apps the way I would want to...

So what I do with on of the most powerful smartphones today is Enjoy the crap out of it until the Asus PadFone 2 is release and then I can actually have a true all-in-1 device...

As far as replacing netbooks, well most of it depends on developers of apps... and I find that Kingsoft Office is the best for Android. Full of features and nice UI.

We are already seeing advance with Autodesk software and Photoshop Touch, but there is still much room for improvement.

We need more productivity and feature rich apps than bigger sensors or better ppi

I'd sell it to Google for the next Nexus or something.

Would also like to browse the net and open PHONEARENA flash always on to load in 5 seconds. To play highend 4D games like games like Diablo.

In a perfect world, to be-able to use NFC to pay for everything from vending machines, stores purchases to any kind of travel. “Would need a top notch camera for the travel”.
To keep up on work productivity, whether it is charts, graphs, email, or real time conferences.
To be-able to watch movies, read books, find news from around the world with no hesitation.
Security, that this phone would work for me and only me.

37. ThePolak posted on 18 Sep 2012, 12:20 1

It's an interesting concept. But as technological progress allowed us to do new things that we wouldn't think about earlier then having the ultimate smartphone would allow us to do new things that we don't do now. What about advanced projects editing in Autocad that is a breeze on 4,5+ screen? What about new things that we don't even consider at the moment. Call me unimaginative but 5 years ago I haven't thought about owning a phone that was remotely close to SGS3 - a multipurpose communication device with different advanced functions that has the specification of my laptop at that time. So I guess we'll know the new usage in time with the arrival of technologies.

42. JDCohen722 posted on 18 Sep 2012, 13:18 1 1

My Ultimate Smartphone would have a 4.8 inch screen, Full HD 1080p Screen with 490ppi, Super LCD3 (Considering that the One X's screen S-LCD2 was considered by many to be one of the best mobile screens, as the Verge put it, in History), an Octo-Core 2.5GHz Processor of the Cortex A15 Architecture, a massive 3500maH battery, a 16MP Rear Camera and a 5MP Front Camera, a unibody aluminum or maybe Polycarbonate chassis while retaining to be less than 9mm thin and put together with LTE and 3GB of RAM and 128 GB of Internal Storage and maybe a Power VR Series 6 GPU that puts its graphic capabilities on par with the PS4 and Xbox 720. And to wash it all down with Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie.

There's always something missing on every phone. If one has it, the other doesn't. My super phone will be a phablet capable of both mobile and home computing. This I won't be broke buying so many devices. Everything I need to do from entertainment to productivity will be on one phone. photography must also be included, therefore a super camera is a must.

48. remixfa posted on 18 Sep 2012, 15:36 1

If Reality went out the Window, then here it goes.

I would have it to be Powered by Dark Energy, so it would NEVER DIE while doing anything with it. It would be able to get a Signal EVERYWHERE! And I Mean EVERYWHERE you can Think of. The Phone would be able to be a Speaker Phone that EVERYONE in the Office can hear it when Needed to be a Speaker Phone. It also would be able to have Bone Sound Induction Technology in it. The phone would have true 1080 Cameras both Front & Back. You yould be able to Skype with it and Shoot a Video as well if you choose to. When you would want to Watch anything on it, then the FUN BEGINS. The Phone will be able to Project a Life Size Hologram in Full 3D Color and the Sound would be FULL IMMERSION where it makes you feel like you are right in the action. The Phone would be able to View ANY type of file that you can think of. The Phone would have FUTURE PROOF STORAGE CAPACITY. It would also have SECURITY BUILT IN. The Phone would be able to tell if you hand it to someone to use and also be able to tell when it's being STOLEN. It would Warn the Theif to put the Phone back Exactly where they picked it up from. If they did NOT replace the Phone, the Phone would TAZE the Theif and Set off an Alarm and send out a TEXT and E-Mail with the Picture of the Theif and the GPS Location. The Phone would also LEARN from you and could Become your very own Personal Assistant to the degree that you let it become. And if ANYTHING AT ALL would Happen to the Phone, then the VERY LAST State that the Phone was in before anything happened to it, ALL the Info, Programs, Songs, Videos, Contacts, and EVERYTHING ELSE would be Stored in your VERY OWN PERSONAL CLOUD. When you replace the Phone, all you would have to do is use the Camera to Do an Iris Scan, a Finger Print Scan, and the Microphone can do a Voice Scan. Once done, then the phone would turn Off and LOAD EVERYTHING as it was in the Very Last State before something had happened to it as to why it Stopped Working.

As I said; IF REALITY WENT OUT THE WINDOW!

So don't reply something Stupid to this Post.
