If 'twas tablets, 'twas iPads in Christmas stockings these Holidays

It’s hard to tell just how popular a device is nowadays as companies like Amazon never reveal the actual sales of their tablets…

Not surprising at all, the ipad if not the best is for certain the most popular...that helps.

In America right?

Trust me I'm not trying to start a flame war, just stating a fact.

No, you're wrong, it's because since it's the only App'roved past time, $heep can only Tweet one another; may not make it right but, they're used to it by now.

People like fluidity.... and ipad provides that, no doubt its costly and also os is stale but still ... It provide great app collection and fluidity

Yeah, agreed, thing is the iPad is more of a status symbol.. so its much more likely that youll tweet bragging about your overpriced tablet rather than what people perceive to be a 'worse' tablet because it's cheaper..

12. p0rkguy posted on 26 Dec 2012, 09:04

If you need to brag about what you purchased, majority of the time it's because it wasn't at a justified value.
It's even worse when it's a gift because it just means you wouldn't have buy it for yourself.

It definitely is hard to judge when figures are not completely revealed. I will say this however: My Nephew works in the computer department at Best Buy and the claims the Amazon Kindle line was hard to keep in stock. They were huge sellers with HD series being the most requested.

As far as tweets and such, I have found more individuals are prone to "brag" that they got an Apple product due to status quo.

Actually it's a matter of convenience which markers to base a study on if end result are pre decided. Ancel keys took only 7 country data to substantiate his "pre decided finiding" which has lead to best ever organsied SCAM called "Cholestrol" scare and STATIN drugs and after decades of abuse now medical world is also accepting that STATIN drugs are a big BS :)

8. CellularNinja posted on 26 Dec 2012, 08:18

@slammer I completely agree with that. The findings are circumstantial.

6. CellularNinja posted on 26 Dec 2012, 08:16

I got the nexus 10. I forget if I tweeted about it though.

9. rickywinataa posted on 26 Dec 2012, 08:19

the numbers don't really show the quantity of the devices sold as apple brand are nowadays for status statement. I'm sure nexus 7 and kindle fire HD is also big sales during christmas given they're much cheaper.

in rude words: apple users are just cocky, they tweeted it because they actually know nothing about what they should do next for their devices while kindle and nexus users set their accounts and optimized their brand new tablets (just kidding)

10. tedkord posted on 26 Dec 2012, 08:30

I world imagine the iPad was the biggest seller, but this is just a silly way of counting. Personally, I don't use Twitter (or facebook), so even if I'd gotten a tablet...but I still fund tablets for too underpowered and inflexible compared to an equivalently priced laptop. What this proves most is that people get Apple products mainly as a status symbol. They have to announce to the world that they have the iPad.

11. yajia1 posted on 26 Dec 2012, 08:58 1

Because people with iPads can't do anything with their tablets but tweet and facebook. Android tablet owners meanwhile, are busy rooting and flashing custom ROMs. Lol. Me for an instance never have tweeted in this Android tablet I am using (Galaxy Tab 7.7). But have flashed tens of custom ROMs and launchers and widgets. Watched movies too, that I have downloaded as torrents that don't need converting and itunes and PC to sync. I download things straight to it.

The funny thing about that is those are the same people who only buy one for those reasons; they dont need the extra that android gives. The Ipad is also more dominate in games but I see android getting better games every year so hopefully they catch up.

17. jibraihimi posted on 26 Dec 2012, 12:06

So was it 1795 different people, tweeting 1795 different tweets...??? Or was it one person sending all those 1795 tweets......???

18. Slammer posted on 26 Dec 2012, 13:08

To add to my post:

Hype fuels excitement and conceit. During the furbie frenzy, more people were bragging on how they received or obtained one or two of these things while no one posted about receiving pants or shirts even though tons of clothes were sold. It is a status symbol no matter how one looks at it.Android has become the world dominating OS. No one is going to brag that they have a mainstream product. No reason to. However, to say: "I got an iPad!," is an exclamation of bragging that they have acheived a level of "in crowd." Furbies are not top notched products yet they created a frenzy to be part of the hype.
